Zo! - This Could Be the Night
Artist: Zo!
Featuring: Rapper Big Pooh , Eric Roberson
Producer: Zo!
Album: SunStorm LP
Label: Unsigned
Been yearning for some silky-smooth, jazz/R&B goodness from a fresh face whose stage name includes unnecessary punctuation? Well, Tonight May Be the Night your oddly specific dream comes true; for your listening pleasure, multi-instrumentalist/producer Zo! has stepped into the Booth with the lead single off his forthcoming full-length. In addition to a lush beat by the Maryland native (who plays every single instrument on the track. Every. Single. Instrument.), this cut boasts an embarrassment of riches on the guest tip. Not only do singers Eric Roberson and Darien Brockington lace the joint with a double-helping of soulful crooning, Little Brother alum Rapper Big Pooh chimes in on the back end with a brief but wittily seductive guest verse, describing a ritzy night on the dance floor with his girl. Like what you’re hearing? You’ll be able to find plenty more from the insanely-versatile Zo! and his high-caliber connects on the artist’s SunStorms LP, scheduled to hit record store shelves and online retailers July 27.

Quick story (I promise). My grandmother has always loved the fact that I am blessed with the opportunity to hear and discover new music before the mainstream public has the chance to consume it. It is for this reason that she always asks me to send her stuff that "I think she will like." To be honest, outside of an occasional Usher or Beyonce record, I don't send her much. However, after hearing this Zo! record, I sent it her way (taking a little chance). And guess what? It worked.
When my grandmother co-signs your record, you know that you have talent! |

Zo!'s production is what held me in a trance, this seems like the sorta music I would enjoy live more though. At home? Gotta be in one of those certain moods which suck. Love Big Pooh's verse too.

i like the vibe of this song. But like aussie_accents says, you have to be in one of those moods to truly enjoy it, AND it would be much better live.

Damn Z, you got one fresh grandma. And I can see why she'd dig this, there's a real universal appeal here - has kind of a two step vibe. Very nicely done.

This has a real fresh, laid back, I feel its lacking a little extra something to appeal to many people however.

THIS TRACK RIGHT HERE IS A TAKING YOUR GIRL OUT TO THE JAZZ CLUB ALL DRESSED UP AND VIBIN' ON THE DANCE FLOOR. DEFINITELY A MOOD TRACK. I BET IT WOULD BE BETTER TO SEE LIVE. BUT I CAN SEE MYSELF SKIPPIN' THIS TRACK AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE EVERY TIME ON MY iPOD. IT'S DECENT BUT DOESN'T DO ENOUGH TO KEEP ME INTERESTED FOR THE DURATION.
