Having one of those Wednesdays that feels like a Friday? Can’t believe it’ll be another two days before you can kick back and decompress? Take a deep breath, click “play” and allow Booth newcomer ZeeK to transport you to a world of “Cold Drinks, cute chicks with stilettos…” (Or, um, buff dudes in tight T-shirts, if you prefer). Every bit as refreshing as its title would suggest, this newly-released mixtape single finds the Boston rapper-producer doing double-duty on the mic and behind the boards, cooking up a head-noddably chill boom-bap beat (I feel like there’s a classic break/sample lurking down there, but I can’t put my finger on it.) to back his debauched, but eminently smooth snapshots of the nightlife. Green Street emcee Soupa commandeers the mic on the middle, interlacing his own suave game-spitting with chuckle-worthy trash talk: “Cosby lifestyle, y’all be softer than some pudding.” Has Cold Drinks left you thirsty for more chill beats and dope rhymes from this talented up-and-comer? Nice introduction to Zeek, both as an emcee and producer, but more so as a producer. That is not to say I don't like his flow or vocal tone, but this beat is dope. And his rhymes were more middle of the pack than stand out. Either way, I want to hear more. ZeeK, whats next?

I'm feelin the beat on here. Not really feeling Zeek's flow or his lyrics. Delivery just doesn't sound up to par. It's missing something.. This is OK...
