Way back in the day, Americans caught wind of the French-rooted word, beaucoup. The adjective, which is defined as “an abundance of; galore,” was passed around like the secret word in the children’s game telephone and eventually became “Bookoo.” Often used before the word “bucks,” the expression has widely been heard in reference to how much something costs. Always known to embrace pop culture in his raps, Bad Boy/Block Entertainment artist Yung Joc has scooped up the word and theme for a possible buzz single off his forthcoming third studio album, tentatively titled Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood. While Joc’s last album did not sell bookoo copies (see how that works?), maybe the third time is the charm for the playful rapper.
The production on this is on FIRE whoever did it props to them!, its good to hear Yung Joc, aint been hearin alot from him every now and then, but definitly feeling this alot! BANGER
Now this is the Joc that brought us It's Goin' Down. This bangs and is one of the best songs I've heard from Joc in a while. I'm looking forward and expecting a lot more from Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood coming from Hustlenomics. This is a banger.
This should get Bookoo plays in the south. I was a Joc hater until his verse on buy you a drink. I don't take him seriously as a lyricist but he is entertaining and there is room for him in Hip Hop, unlike shawty lo... This is alright.
This is a typical Yung Joc track... Nonetheless it what he does best with the "nursery rhymes." I like Joc's style. Its simple and plain. He's pretty much guaranteed to make you "giggle" a couple times when he rhyming. "I wanna @*#$! lil Debbie, she got Bookoo cream" haha... Anyway I'll be bumpin this track..
A novel approach on a simple french word; although, the pronunciation is butchered, but it still sounds fresh. Everything about this track is on point!!! This is definitely ORGANIC!
Yea nice openning with a bookoo taste. Slow flow with a nich that's Joc for ya. See two things to look foward to a Young Joc song colorfull flow and southern flavor.
this song reminds me of lookin boy how he says bookoo so much i like the beat though becuz its grimy and its like techo electro a lil but im not feelin yung joc like that
Beat is bangin... rhymes are hot... not really feelling bookoo. Definatly a butchered version of beaucoup, which i hear all the @*#$! time cus im in Montreal
BooKoo is too funny sounding of a word for me to take this seriously. Man, I was hoping I'd have some new tracks to throw in rotation today, (Yung Joc, Paul Wall, and Boss Hogg Outlawz, and Metafore) but everything is just OK. Kinda disappointed.
LMAO!!! dis song sucks....whoeva said dat dis shud get major plays n da south, wat part of da south u from honey??!?!?!?!?!?! cum on dis is boring. da only thing i like is da protection...he not even usin da word correctly throughout da whole song...
