After a few months without any new Yung Berg, the “Prince of the Chi,” has made his way back into our Booth with the new buzz single, Do That There. Following last summer’s hit single, Sexy Lady, and his current collaboration with singer Ray J, Sexy Can I, Berg hopes to build a buzz on his name, leading up to his full-length album drop this summer. While prior features have shown a soft side to the rapper, an appeal that usually only works wonders with female fans, Do That There is a clear-cut attempt to provide a harder image and showcase his male bravado. Berg’s debut offering, Look What You Made Me, will be released off Koch/Sony.
Yawn...there's no "wow" factor about this record. Yung Berg has a lot of work to do before his album drops. He solely lost all of his hype after the response from "Sexy Lady" and its successful remix. This is the TENTH Yung Berg track on DJBooth and still NO ALBUM.
Anybody else notice the sample is from Dude 'n Nem's "Watch My Feet"? Great hometown sample and beat, and Berg does allright too. BANGER-wonder what Nathan S. has to say?
Hmmm. Not at all. I love real hip hop and bump catz like Common and Kanye, but for some reason, when Berg dropped "Sexy Lady" last year, that was a hot joint and I was giving Yung the shadow of a doubt. I knew he wasn't going to be the best lyricist ever, but I dug his swagga. This song right here doesn't have that "Sexy Lady" potential at all. It's not bad, but it's not good either. Like Tone+Chef mentioned, there is just no "WOW" factor.
I am feeling the production and the chorus on this right here. I'm not hatin on this at all. Yung Berg flows nicely on this track. I didn't know he was from the Chi...that would explain all the tracks he has on the site! Just kiddin! Its in rotation!
so i saw a yung berg interview on another site, and he wants to try to get on a track w 'ye and lupe... im thinking his chances are slim but idk haha.
on the trak, rated banger. im partial to him though. actually like his style and well, hes from the chi.
I'm givin this 4 stars just because of the creativity and uniqueness. This song is in a way annoying but at the same time it's catchy and probably will get plays.
This song is hella sick! I've been waitin for a song this hot from Yung Berg. His flow is hot on this one and it just oozes of the swagger that I always knew he had. Then the beat...oh shit, so hot! It knocks so hard! Its one of those beats that makes u wanna roll down ur window and give the neighborhood some second-hand rap! He best to make sure this is on the album.
