In anticipation of his debut album’s release, Young Steff has followed in the footsteps of Atlantic labelmates Gnarls Barkley, Serena Ryder, and Bobby Ray by releasing a preview EP, Slow Jukin’. Though the EP’s title track and lead single has been circulating for a minute now, it’s never too late to help it pick up some extra steam. Enjoying a night at the club, Steff asks the DJ to throw his record on so he can get a little Slow Jukin’ from the ladies in the spot. The artist’s falsetto vocals and Chris “Tek” O’Ryan’s slow-jam boardwork will remind many of various The-Dream and Tricky Stewart collabos, but don’t be so quick to scream “Ripoff!” and assign the track a one-star rating—Tek and Steff are simply putting their own spin on a formula that works. Jump It Off has yet to receive a solid release date.

when i first heard this last month, with the title, i really expected somethin a lil more slicker than this like it was goin be a lil upbeat-ish (kinda like bed- j. holiday) but it is what it is, i dont really like it. but i dont think its garbage.

Way off from my taste and style, so it's at negative points from the start. It gets worse unfortunately because I dont think this track will even appeal to the female based audience. It's overall just not a very good job, especially with the talent Young Steff has.

Man, the boo birds are out tonight (tough crowd). I thought Steff was real smooth on this record. The chorus is real smooth and the production oozes slow jam. Chicagoans know all about jukin... nice job, Steff.

This isnt that bad. Its a little different but the production is pretty good and Steff's voice flows smoothly with the beat. Nice hook this is a solid slow jam

Let me just start by saying that this dudes vocals are better that the Dream's. The Dream is a great artist and a superb song writer, but his vocals are nothing special. I like plenty of his songs, but because of the songwriting and melody, not due to his vocals.
That being said, this song was not really bad at all. I liked his falsetto vocals on here, and the melody on the verses and hook is somewhat catchy. The "bridge" where he's just speaking may sound a little lazy and boring, but I think it's a good contrast. Real smooth and has a nice vibe, so it's def in rotation. |

I was feelin this the first time i heard it a few weeks back ... & im still diggin the calm vibe it brings ... I have to disagree with cb126405 on here ... Given the right settings this jam is a complete turn on for ladies ... believe dat!!!

oh now see, steff deffinelty gets my likings here, he sounds different then anyone ive heard, has a different song title then everyone, and he comes with clean smooth vocals, along with great production, deffinetly a sit back with a pint or whateva ya dudes do it, and just watch a beautiful female feel me?! banger

it has to grown. but vocals are def. ear catching he dont sound like he trying to sing. you can tell that he can naturally sing. no stress in his voice. |

this reminds me of usher's old slow jams (nice and slow)... said that, i can't see how this should stand out from a bunch of similar tracks.

I actually really, really enjoyed this song. Steff, for a very young dude, has a really good voice to where it seems like he can hit those notes with ease, just like Mario. The production was good, and the vocals were hot. I would play this on my IPod a lot.

Nice R'n'B track... It's not that hard to appreciate a song of this calibre. I would aspect this get a lot of radio-play (or maybe not, it depends if it is promoted enough from the booth lol)
