Former Roc Boy turned Richcraft flagship artist Young Steff‘s debut single, Professional, has all the makings of a debut chart hit. When you mix the 18-year-old’s voice with appealing subject matter and an upbeat steel-drum production from Polow da Don protégé Chase N. Chase, you end up with a slow-dancefloor winner. Since the song’s original version garnered mainly positive reviews at DJBooth and has also created a buzz nationwide, you know what that means… On the newly-remixed version, Atlantic label mate (and the industry’s newest household name) Maino offers up a solid sixteen bars that prove even street veterans can treat a lady right. Young Steff’s debut album, Jump It Off, will hit stores and online retailers on October 28.
Polo protege's or not, Chase N. Chase has some serious productions skills. This overall song is made by the beat. I hate to say it, but several singers could have sounded right at home over this work. As for Steff, I hope this continue to get spins at radio, because every label situation he has been apart of hasn't worked out and I admire sticktoitofness.
why is everyone rating this so high. The beat doesnt even match wit the other weak rapper whoever it is. I know a hot r&b song when i see one and this aint it. I fu cks wit it but this shyt is not a classic.
Not that serious at all. Don't know what all the high ratings are about.
Im not crazy at all about the production, nor the hook.. although he can sing pretty well.
Oh...you were rating it good before, then when E-dub comes in, you start hating it?
This is the ideal first single for an artist who's been on the backburner for a LOOOONG time...I thought WOW:) was going to rate it higher, because she likes guys singing.
October 28, you'll grow to appreciate him-just you wait!
I love the original song but I think this is useless. Well, I honestly consider every "remix" made only with a verse added very useless...it's not that if they add a rapper the track improves that much, at least to me...the melody and beat remain the same, if they are lame they remain lame, if they are good they stay good! The song can be improved if they change the beat. I don't even rate, I'm tired of these pointless "remixes"
