Young Scolla - Decisions
Artist: Young Scolla
Producer: Tecknowledgy
Album: Escaping Reality
Label: Fab 5 ENT/USR
I’ll be honest. I had heard Detroit microphone controller Young Scolla before, most recently on the Booth approved Get By – but I didn’t truly appreciate the man’s skills and artistic vision until I heard Decisions. Coming off his highly recommended Escaping Reality EP, Decisions is a deeply relatable storytelling track grounded by some deeply soulful, freshly complex production from Tecknowledgy. Lyrically Scolla embodies the struggles of several ordinary people, from a young man crushed by student loans to a mother forced to strip to feed her children, a heavy task that he pulls off with skill: “Everyone ain’t so lucky / I’m under the impression only God can judge me / When life gets ugly that’s when crime gets beautiful.” I don’t think we have a number one hit on our hands, but we do have something even better; truly quality music. For more hip-hop goodness, be sure to download Scolla’s Escaping Reality free EP, available now. You won’t regret it. I promise.

this is funny cause this song don't fit his swagg...but don't judge, yall no the rest...be is ok...could have been better...flow sound so boring...the flow is missing something...and also bad engineering...didn't need the dude in the background of the girl it sound stupid ass hell...he wrote her part better than he wrote his...the track is really sloppy...man he really talking bout some real stuff but he needs to take a lil bit more time with that next song, because the talent is there he just need some knob adjustments

This is a great record. Tecknowledgy did his thing on the production and Scolla definitely executed the record like a vet.
To DJKidd that isn't a female on verse two, he's the one rhyming on every verse. Each verse describes three different perspectives. |

As a young man who has watch this industry take a nose dive in the wrong direction, Young Scolla I feel like bring something different & some truth back to the game. Remember Hip-hop was a way for us to up-lifted our culture & hold our head high in struggling times. When you hear Scolla you hear the people speaking not the bullshit you see & hear on TV that isn't reality... How many of y'all are exactly where you wanna be?? Lets keep it real

On the real, this EP blew me away, and this track is one of the major reasons why. You could sit and pick apart this track, or you could just sit back and enjoy what I feel like is unarguably one of the realest and most talented young emcees working right now. You do you, but I know which one I'm choosing.

I am living with decisions...nice thought provoking track that the masses may have to rewind to understand the concept of the song. Loving the third verse the best because I can relate to it...

Chilled-out smooth music and easy to listen to when kind of zoning out but equally dope when you listen to every word.
