When Young Jeezy released the Plies-assisted Lose My Mind back in March, we didn’t know when and if Thug Motivation 103 would follow, but it at least appeared to be right around the proverbial corner. Ditto when shortly thereafter, we were treated to a remixed version of the single featuring hip hop’s living trending topic, Drake. Unfortunately, six months and several canceled released dates later, the public is no closer to smoking Jeezy’s musical crack and it appears that the rapper’s buzz is taking a hit in the process. In an effort to get things going again, the ATL native has released the Shawty Redd and D. Rich produced Rap Game. On the mic Jeezy explains that the “rap game is f*cked up” and, because of this predicament, he needs to “switch it up.” Regrettably, the emcee fails to march to the beat of his own drum, turning in a typical street-ready, trapper-approved record. It’s unlikely Rap Game will encourage the folks at Def Jam to jump up on their desks and reschedule the album, but if Rocko can release an album, anything is possible.

We have heard this before, but it was called ________ (fill in the blank). I am getting tired of this sound from Jeezy. He needs to throw a slight change-up or risk losing some of his fan base. Just my opinion.

DJ Z your opinion is not uncommon. Gotta agree with you some length since it is just the same music that you bump saying "hey look at me this guy talks shit bout someone else" which is stupid. Lets hear a different style of beat to Jeezy

I actually enjoy it. I mean it's nothing top notch, he can give us more, but I mean its worth downloading. His sound got him where he is, he's just gotta do more with it.

The beat's crazy hard, Shawty Redd makes some of the best bangers in the game, but Jeezy's flow is completely forgettable. I would have loved to have put this into my "Ignorant Songs I'm Bumping" rotation (see Joc's 'Yea Boy') but it just doesn't have the juice.

Look for TM103, dropping shortly before the coming of the apocalypse.

Typical Shawty Redd and Jeezy...It's a hit to me, Jeezy is known for his hard beats and the demeanor he comes with so as far as his fan base is concerned we will see another great album.

Terrible waste of a beat! Bun B would have demolished this! Shawty Redd makes bangers, no doubt. The issue came in when Jeezy thought he was gonna 'change the game', not with this ignorant street beat.

I think Jeezy is either hit or miss, sometimes he is going hard a @*#$!, other times he is unbelievably poor. This is the latter.

Shawty Redd has gotta step it up. Jeezy is getting into the Nasir Syndrome; AKA bad beat selection.
