As he has done every Tuesday for the past few weeks, Young Jeezy premiered (via his website) a brand new track that will be included on the September 2 release of The Recession. Looking back at all the mistakes the Bush administration has made and ahead at the forthcoming presidential election, Jeezy is confident that come January 20, 2009, the words ‘My President Is Black’ will be reality. Def Jam labelmate Nas (who is equally excited by the prospect of a Black President) joins the movement and speaks his mind over an epic instrumental from producers, Tha Bizness. My President Is Black is currently set as the last track on The Recession. Now that’s going out with a bang!
This song is FIREE!!, so many hits on the booth tonight, CRAZYY!!, i know who Jeezy is goin for now haha, Obama all the way LOL, Jeezy kills it, classic beat, imma cop that album first day.
Another hot album. Yo this new Jeezy album is shaping up to be pure heat. Nas comes ill on this song too, I knew a Jeezy/Nas collabo would be nothing but heatrocks. I think Jeezy's moving in the right direction.
Jeezy has really amped his subject matter up. This production is real smooth by "The Bizness" and Jeezy sounds real sincere on here. Both verses was straight fire and that hook was the realest ish I've ever heard from Jeezy. I might go as far to say this is the best Jeezy song I've heard ever. Nas' quick flow at the beginning of his verse was ill. I will say this though...I hope people are voting for Obama for the right reasons, not just because he's finna be the black savior or something, but because he's the right man for the job, black or white. Keep it true baby!
If you dont rate this a 5 people sumthing gotta be wrong. This beat is crazy hot and Jeezy's chorus is original and solid. Nas is fire and so is Jeezy. I cant wait for one more of these next tuesday. This is really one of the hottest songs I've heard in the last year in hip-hop because Jeezy is lyrically a beast on this track. 5 stars all the way!!! Keep it up Jeezy
Between Jeezy and Game, I feel good about the future of our music. Just with these two artist who are not necessarily conscious rappers making great music. This song is fantastic. Hook good. Production good, NAS simply the best, and Jeezy speaking the truth.
Very hot song. I gotta ask the same question as michaelhannah, a major part of me thinks that these people are pushing for Obama just because he's black. I don't like feeling that way, but I cant help it. Who knows? Great production and Nas tears it up.
Although I liked Nas' Black President better, this is very American. I think that Jeezy is copying off of Nas by making this his last song on his new album, but if it works like it did for Nas, then I welcome it. Just make sure that you signify the change that is coming with the new election. Obama For Pres.
Two years ago I would have said that a Nas feature on a Jeezy record would have sounded out of place. That couldn't be further from the truth on this one. Very impressed. Like I said last week... this album is sick.
Haven't seen this many 5 stars in a long ass time...but with this you cant go wrong...bizness beat if fire, chorus is hot...Jeezy for President!! hahaha
^^^^^^lmfao. i was jus thinkin dat. u ALMOST took da words rite out my mouth. i actually read da vibe article n he said he wit mccain cuz mccain acknowledged him or sumthin like dat.....which was a poor excuse to vote for sumbody....but dnt get me wrong i f**ks wit jeezy but he's contradictin himself....sooo u really wrote dis song?....
Hot song here. Nas teared this up. Truthfully, I enjoy Jeezy but I don't think he's Top 10 (maybe in the south but not in the game); his lyrics are only slightly above average, his flow is good, and his punchlines are predictable. Don't get me wrong, I think this albums going to be hot but I'm sure we'll hear better by the time the years out. (Ludacris' Theater of the Mind comes to mind)Anyways, hot song. Not a classic.
Keep the 5's coming cuz this shyt is hot!! The crazy thing is that this probably wont be the hottest song on Jeezy's album. I cant imagine what tricks Jeezy got up his sleeve, all I know is that The Recession will be Top 5 album of this year but I aint saying #1. Dats going to far. Jeezy spit the truth on this one and he aint lyrically a monster like Nas, Lupe, or Budden , but his delivery is on point and what he says is true to what he represents. Keep this up Jeezy and I'm startin to believe in what this dude got. I dont care who he vote for dats just unnecessary and it dont really matter who vote for. Even if he vote for McCain doesnt mean the people in the black community should stop listening to his music. Neways this is classic material and I prob be listening to this joint 2 years from now and this is certified banger. I see the 5's but tell me why so much 4 stars? This can be played in the club and in the car and its certified g shyt. Nas and Jeezy collabo at first glance wouldnt seem like a good mix but I gotta admit they straight hammered the nail on dis one. Classic!!!
omg who tha hell cares wut color our president iz az long az they do a gud job, damn! anyway...thiz song iznt az gud az lotz yall r say-n...i mean, jeezy my man in all, but thiz onez jus aight 4 me.
jeezy back i wan't my president black(obama) vote for president but my car ain't blue i like how he's mension the obama and that old dude forgot his name
WOW:), that's a very intelligent thing you said. It does not matter the color of our president. It only matters if he does a good job..point blank. I cosign that statement. Oh, and XuUP17NC, I am definitely excited as well. I didn't think I'd have any albums to look forward this to this year (last year I had Common's "Finding Forever", Kanye's "Graduation" and Lupe's "The Cool). But I'm excited again for Game's new album, T.I's "Paper Trail and Common's new "Invicible Summer" album. I also heard that he's dropping another classic Common album called "The Believer" in 2008 with productions from Kanye West and No I.D
I guess you rated this as a classic mainly coz of the lyrics...because if it isn't for this reason I don't understand. The production is good but kinda repetitive! I'll look for the lyrics, altough I don't like political songs
The beat to this is crazy. But Jeezy is not all that. He used to be tite but not so much anymore. Nas killed this though. Oh and Pimp C would not say @*#$! to Jeezy because Pimp thought Jeezy was fake.
Tha Bizness are from Seattle - instantly a 5 in my book haha, along with Sabzi of Blue Scholars and Common Market looks like we've got something to offer ha
WoW and Gangstagirl stop trying to stand out by saying that please? This song is Classic material, who else out there is making a song about who there gonna vote for and who they think should be President? exactly, people piss me off when they underate a song b/c they take something like the title of the song and misunderstand it and then think they don't deserve the Great rating this song deserves, Jeezy making changes, give him props? and specially if Nas is on the song you know theres something thats just right like a song like this, so stop under-rating songs b/c of there song title or b/c of anything else..
so even tho obama hasnt won yet, this song is released?
its straight, i want obama and thats not just cos hes black like most of the people at the bet awards proved is their only reason they want him to win...aha but towards the song, its aight, anything with nas is tight, but im just not 100% on this tune yet...
Dizguy productions stop hating on the truth. U a wack dude if you cant appreciate the class and meaning of this song. Jeezy been hot to me ever since he came out, still are. Nas did his thing too, this is one of the cats who goes hard on his album and others' tracks. (gunnin weezy)
