Young Jeezy - Death Before Dishonor
Artist: Young Jeezy
Producer: Lex Luger
Album: 1000 Grams Mixtape
Label: CTE/Def Jam/IDJMG
B.M.F. has almost undisputedly been the banger of the year. With every rapper alive seemingly putting their own twist on the heavy trunk bumping Lex Luger beat, it feels like everyone thinks they’re Big Meech. However, Young Jeezy may have crafted the summer’s most controversial version as he releases mixtape cut Death Before Dishonor. Coming off the 1000 Grams Mixtape, set to be released this Thursday, Jeezy comes out firing shots at his label mate Ricky Ross with lines like, “How you blowing money fast, you don’t know the crew. Are you part of the fam? Sh*t I never knew.” As Jeezy continues to spit lines about how he knows the REAL big Meech and his typical cocaine lines, a lot like myself may be wondering why Jeezy has started this slaughter. Is Jeezy upset that Ross’s biggest hit is an ode to the Black Mafia Family, a crew Jeezy has been down with for years? One thing is for certain though, Def Jam should be getting a lot of attention from this, and any publicity is good publicity, right?

I am not a fan of this stupid beef attempt between Jeezy and Ross, but I am a much bigger fan of this version that the original featuring Ross.

Last night, after we went to press with this track. Jeezy claimed it wasn't a shot at Ross...but it was a shot at everyone who falsely claims affiliation with the Black Mafia Family...in other words, Ross. SMH.
Anyway, it's been well established that this beat's huge, and Jeezy absolutely does sound at home here. This would have been perfect for TM103, but that's the way it goes sometimes. The real question is, which version is better, Ross or Jeezy's. Maybe it's just because its the original, but I'd still have to give it to Rozay. |

On this: Jeezy>Ross... Beat is still the highlight. This beefing is just an attempt to get both of them more spotlight. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Halarious how he spits the same lyrics but calls it a diss...sorry but if you gonna track jack then do it tough and say who you want to receive the message. On the same label too...nah..sorry can't give approval. Family beef hurts the whole fam so cut and eat it and put out something together. Beef don't pay, just gives you gas.
Side note..Jeezy does go in on the surface though but lost respect since he's usin the same lyrics as Ross. |

Better than Ross's original, but definitely not the best version of everyone's favorite acronym-labeled beat. No, Lupe's 'building minds faster' has that locked down (for now).

I really dont like hook and the fact that jeezy took the sample just for his own version is kind of wack.
