Regardless of whether or not Akon’s criminal history is true or false, when it comes to his music credentials there is no doubt he is a Hustleman. Off rapper Young Hot Rod’s forthcoming mixtape, Hot Rod Radio Vol. 1: Knight Rider, Kon provides standard Konvict production work and a catchy hook, while Rod is joined by Philly’s Freeway on the microphone. Unable to secure a release date from G-Unit for his long-delayed debut album, Fastlane, Rod has stayed patient for several years while in pursuit of becoming the first major rapper from Arizona to drop a mainstream album. Knight Rider, which is mixed by DJ Woogie, will be released later this month.
This reminds me of the Akon that had Locked Up, not No Matter. Anyway I think its in roatation, but young hot rod needs to bring more with his lyrics, but Freeway didn't disappoint. This is in roatation.
Man, Akon's production skills and chorus game is always on point. I never got down with Young Hot Rod when he first came out. He's OK on this. He finally sounds like he is in G-Unit and not some tissue paper negro from the valley. Freeway's delivery is pretty nice on this. He ain't been bringing jack since 2004, so it's good to hear him actually giving an effort. This is not a super great track, but it's solid.
this is a good track - its smooth, rod does his thing, akon kills the hook like always, and freeway fits well on this one. the beat is also crisp on this one!
Sound like Dre had some ghost influence on this track. I love the beat with that piano! hot rod is wack! I know cats that flow better tahn dude honestly. Freeway saves it for me!
Uhmm… :s it’s a shame when Akon sounds uninspired on the hooks. Surprisingly, I don’t like the piano on this, although I usually like its touch. It feels out of place for me. G-Unit (label) is full of wack rappers. If Shady’s Stat Quo, Bobby Creek, Cashis don’t make it, what are this guy’s odds? 2.5*
Kinda boring to me...the beat isn't bad, though! It's impressing, Akon is like parsley: he's everywhere. I like him but I'm getting tired of him, his voice is too particular
This collaboration just doesn't work..Akon normally kills it but his chorus part really ain't that catchy and the beat is just okay....freeway only hurts the song as well...
I don't know how this guy is still signed to G-Unit he hasn't put anything out. Anyways this track is decent the Akon beat is good his chorus is not his best but Hot Rod and Freeway do alright on here.
Not to be biased but i'm surprised nobody enjoyed freeway...his style is good. I agree with fredrico thinking akon is uninspired...that was one of the first things I thought of...songs good.
i'm only ratin this joint cuz freeway is slept on....akon sounds uninspired boy aint singin from the gut.....and hot rod deserves a star just for tryin...but freeway is sick
