This past February, Lupe Fiasco‘s single Hip Hop Saved My Life was featured on the DJBooth, telling the story of a rapper’s rapid rise to the top (the single also rose to become one of our higest-rated songs ever). But what if the aspiring MC in the story had not risen to the top so quickly and instead gone through further struggles before he got his shine? Nashville native and G-Unit member Young Buck gives us his version, describing how that rapper missed out on a big opportunity, leading him to realize that maybe Hip-Hop Can’t Save Me. Not willing to let him just give up on his dream, Buck encourages the kid to keep his hopes up; another chance might not be too far away.
Why didn't Lupe make a remix and feature Young Buck on it. I think it would of been an explosive hit. I like the spin-off by Young Buck. I think he has been the hungriest out of all the G-UNIT members. When he rhymes you can feel the passion in his voice. The feline voice is not bad.
Lupe simply smashed the original version -- check the charts for proof -- so normally I would be against anyone taking this song from him. However, Buck does it as best anyone could. The man needs to wave BYE BYE to G-Unit.
good job by buck by takin this song and not makin it bad.......buck really needs to leave gunit because i feel they are holdin him and his career back, 50 doesnt want any of his artist to be better than him(not hard to be better than 50 have you heard his last album) buck needs to follow the game and leave g unit he always been my favorite
Man, Buck continues to surprise me over and over again. This was very decent. Even WOW liked it, and she don't like nothing...lol. I agree, G-Unit doesn't even deserve Buck to be with them. He deserves a real label to skyrocket his career.
well i gave the original 5 stars. but sadly this isnt near as good as that. the female singing isnt that good imo, a bit annoying to me. buck does spit nicely. solid 3 stars
Well Buck did his thing on here and his flow fits so perfectly with the song...and yes he definately needs to leave the G-Unit cuz its hurting his game as a rapper becuz everyone hates on them...He has so much talent but hes wasting it 50 Cent and crew..
YOUNG BUCK KILLS THIS!!! Buck is as strong as he has always been on there. I love the LUPE version; but I was just dying to hear some HARDER lyrics on this beat and Young Buck Delivers!!! HARD $HIT RIGHT HERE!
Like most ppl already stated, Lupe killed this song, but Young Buck def. killed it in a different way. Young Buck is better than 50 and I would buy his album before 50's any day bc his stuff is not for commercial purposes.
Damn this @*#$! is hard as fuk. Many people hate 50 and I think he a genius when it comes 2 musik. However he fuked up now. He dropped Buck from G-Unit? Banks is lyrical, 50 is well 50 so people will cop Lock and Load cuz of that, Yayo just plainly sucks, but now they missin dat raw condiment in the group. Without Buck their next album isn't gunna be as hard as Beg 4 Mercy.
I DONT KNOW WHY YOU KEEP SAYING THIS ABOUT 50 AND G-UNIT . 50 IS NOT HOLDING BUCK BACK . HE IS LETTING BUCK DO HIS THING. IF BUCK WAS A PROBLEM . HE WOULD HAVE DID HIM LIKE HE DID GAME. BUT BUCK IS BETTER THAN GAME . AND 50 KNOWS THAT . JUST THINK ABOUT THAT . YOU KEEP BRINGING 50 AND G-UNIT UP . THEY WILL NEVER GO AWAY . THANKS TO YOU FOR THE SUPPORT . BUCK WILL ALWAYS BE G-UNIT . THE JOINT IS HOT
