As Shakespeare once asked, “Would a rapper by any other name rhyme as dope?” Ok, so maybe that’s not an exact quote, but the basic principle still applies, and in the case of YONAS (previously known as Cause), the answer is a resounding yes. On Mindless, Yonas’ second Booth feature since changing his name, the young rhymespitter flows as freshly as ever, ducking and dodging in between the bouncing beat with an always precise cadence. With lyricism like this why did YONAS title the track Mindless? Probably because the production, coming to us from the mind of Sean Divine, is the kind of looping, addictive beat that will subconsciously get your head rocking. From the first note I knew I'd dig this one. It has a very "could go commercial route" while staying grounded to the street.
I think this song has massive potential. You be mindless (corny, I know) to not rate this a 3 or higher. As a matter of fact I could see a few labels calling me about it *checks Blackberry*.

I dig it. Great balance with the rapid-fire flow over a very bouncy track. Sounds similar to Em's flow on "Drop The World", which isn't a bad thing. Much respect!

Couldn't agree with Z more. This track could have edged into overly commercial territory, but Yonas manages to keep it artistically integral with some intelligent but not overly serious rhymes. Dope.
And the Marion Bros. sample isn't overused, it's just the cherry on the production sundae.

From start to finish the lyrics are well crafted, the hook is memorable with a polished execution, and Sean Divine provides a solid backdrop. Nicely done!

Hotness... "This that joint that make you swollow ya words" Mosdef ready for the airwaves. Verses, hook, and production are perfectly put together, I enjoyed this from start to finish several times.

Man, this beat just gets in your head and doesnt quit. Yonas always impresses me - one of his tracks from his I am mixtape came on my phone today and I remembered how dope that project was. He has a crossover appeal without trying to be a "crossover artist". This track is a hit.
