After seeing how effectively Yonas stirred Booth readers’ hearts with his last feature, Nobody Else, I got to thinking: if the Northeastern buzzmaker channeled that inspirational energy into a straight-up motivational/street anthem, he could really bring down the house. Well, he has, and (I think) he will. Making its world premiere in the Booth, I Could is a grandiose ode to the grind with a braggadocious, but down-to-Earth lyrical sensibility. Over Sean Divine‘s instrumental, featuring a pensive, arpeggiated-synth verse and an appropriately earth-shaking chorus, the emcee expresses his determination to conquer the rap game and make his mother (and the man upstairs) proud. And his penmanship is just as impressive as his dedication to the game, as showcased in internal-rhyme peppered lines like: “If you’re in a daze I can help you out your coma / No diploma, but the art I do belongs inside the Moma.” Does this triumphant banger leave you feeling ready to take on the world?  If I could buy stock in only a handful of artists, based on their work in 2010, Yonas would be in my portfolio. His music excites me. There is really no other way to say it. The singing Yonas, displayed on "I Could"'s chorus, is a new look for the emcee, but talent is talent and if Kanye and 50 can do it, why not Yonas?
PS. Emcees in the game... if you like Sean Divine's production work, holler at us. I need to get this man some more looks; his work is simply too good.

I agree exactly with DJ Z on this. Yonas has great vocals on the chorus in this. Im really feeling this from Yonas. The verses are deep and thoughtful. Also its a very nice smooth, enjoyable listen. The production from Sean Divine is very nice with a great flow. This is a overall great song. A def banger.

Yonas has yet to offer a track that hasn't impressed me. This young man is what I wish I would sound like if I were a rapper (a hybrid between him and Mike Dreams, really). The fact that he didnt cuss in a whole song is enough to get 5 stars from me, but the lyrical content, fluidity, and exuberance he shows sure don't hurt, either. Great job again, Yonas.

Wow, i cannot believe the way every time YONAS drops a track it only goes beyond my expectations. In just a few short months he has fast become one of my favorite emcees. Sean Divine lays down another fantastic beat for YONAS's uplifting but sharp lyrics. Even his singing is adequate. This guy needs to get signed asap, he is just what the game needs and i totally agree with Z on this one get Sean Divine some more work cuz the man flat out makes bangers...

Funny before i even pressed play i knew this would be either 4 or 5 stars. Can't believe that Yonas is still unsigned, but that'll fix itself in due time, especially if he sticks with his staple partner Sean Devine. They work together effortlessly, really a perfect duo. Look out people Yonas is on his way to the top.

Good track by Yonas, as usual. By the way does anyone know if there is a way to get a track through to the dj booth members or get in touch with them to see if they could put it on the site? I got a friend that just produced a track for Jon Hope and 2 other artists and it would be pretty cool to get it up on the site to see what everyone thinks. Consistent with what Yonas has been putting out for the last year. He is too good not to be heard. This track is just fire. Divines beat is dope, and the hook can help this track cross to mainstream. Yonas and Sean are Amazing together.
