Last September, Yonas inked a label deal with independent imprint 1st Round Records. Four months and change later, the Big Apple repper and longtime DJBooth favorite makes things official with the release of his debut video single as part of their roster. On Clockwork, Teddy Roxpin‘s compulsively head-noddable, keyboard-driven production bangs in the back as Yonas expresses his exhilaration at having made it this far, and his high hopes for the latest phase in his career. Jakob Owen complements the cut with some official visuals set amidst the bright lights of NYC at night. Featuring Clockwork, the reader-approved Temptation and much more, new EP The Black Canvas is slated to hit iTunes February 4.

Yonas has a likable flow with a clear cadence and a pop appeal, but the truth is that he can actually spit effortlessly. I like the black and white portions of this video, well done.

I'm with Lucas, the beat didn't do it for me. But Yonas is a beast, and can shred whatever sound that is handed to him. Mass looking forward to The Black Canvas.

Yonas has a decent flow on this, but all together with the beat, its pretty average. I wouldn't turn it off if it came on again, but I wouldn't go looking for it either.

Yonas has always been a top 3 favorite of mine. Not many people are probably happier to see him finally get a record deal than me, but i just hope that with this new label signing that Yonas doesn't sign away what made all of us fall in love with his music in the first place. He has definitely put out better songs than this. One bright spot from this new upcoming album is the previously featured song "Temptation". Hope to hear more songs like that on the new project.

I liked the beat, and Yonas flow. It defiantly has a Pop feel but for what it is i certainly enjoyed it
