Women lie, men lie, and while numbers may not lie, both men and women lie about numbers, meaning numbers also can’t be trusted. Follow all that? If not don’t worry, just listen to Yo Gotti’s cut Women Lie, Men Lie, a newly leaked track inspired by Jay-Z’s famous line from Reminder. While a Hova appearance would have been money (pun intended), having Lil Wayne jump on the track ain’t so bad either, and while Gotti’s raspy flow works well with the swaggering, electronically soaked production from Brad Young & Seneca, without Weezy’s guest verse I’m not sure we’d be talking about this track today; Gotti’s rhymes are solid, but honestly he doesn’t have solo hitmaking power, at least yet. J Records/Pologrounds aren’t sure if they’re going to include Women Lie, Men Lie on Gotti’s debut album, so your feedback on this one is especially important. Come on Booth, really speak your mind on this one, and whatever you do, don’t lie.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to. The beat on this one is banging. Gotti's verses are strong enough to keep my attention but not much more. Wayne was a highlight here with his exceptionally short guest feature. It's in rotation.
Btw, when are we getting the new Three 6 Mafia single with Tech N9ne? "Shots After Shots". That's a banger for sure. |

the production is like WHAA????? Gotti was not as HOT as i wanted him to be. But overall this song goes STRAIGHT INTO ROTATION. Wayne is such a good rapper when he tries! (3.5 stars)

I saw this coming a mile away. I am surprised, though, that they didn't just sample Jay's vocals directly if they (as they tell me) had no intention of releasing this record. I have a feeling things might change.

You know I gotta be honest on this one. The weakest part of this track is Gotti, who has a tendency to sound like a poor man's Jeezy on occasion, but with that said this is a banger. If Gotti can improve his style and delivery he's definitely got a bright future in front of him.

Yo Gotti is just another mediocre "rapper" for me, who can be listenable with the right production/hook and the right feature. Gotti's verses were typical recycled lines with a bit more emphasis on numbers and Weezy dropped some nice word-play but it should've been better.
"and men lie about women, and sh!t women lie about plenty, They aint lying on me Im in the bed with 2 fine b!tches lying on me" Overall, this quote deserves a better treatment. 2.5 |

Even with Wayne on this track, to me its lacking something. Not sure what it is, but doubtful it would remain in my rotation. Its definitely a head knocker, something for the clubs or riding in the whip...but besides that, I don't think it really stands out. Just my two cents.

I was going to skip this post because it said Lil' Wayne but the title (Men and Women Lie) was something I heard of before(its a Jay-Z rhyme).
Ostensibly, Weezy is affluent although his education is far from an intellectuals. Obviously, Weezy doesn't fit the bill to be anything but fundamental. His tracks are scripted; And this track which questions the rhyme's origin is rhetorically draining. Bahda BEAT is hot on my THX |

I first heard this on XM radio and to me this is a banger. I had never been a Yo Gotti fan until now. I can't lie he is coming with the heat. He still has to work on his voice but shout out to the booth.

For me they need to release a remixed version of this. Weezy is insane once again, but gotti just doesnt have it. hes got the voice but lacks the substance to make this a hit. work on his verse add another star, and it might just hit 1 at billboard. itll be in rotation just for the production and chorus, not to mention weezy.
