Since the Ying Yang Twins parted ways with Mr. ColliPark, they’ve released two new singles (Freak and Wham Boom Bam). While both sound very similar to their earlier work, neither have caught on like their previously released ColliPark-produced hits. Regardless, D-Roc and Kaine hope the third time’s a charm as they channel some of their old energy (previously heard on the Pitbull collabo Shake) for the strip-club ready Drop. Not wanting to mince words, the Twins call a spade a spade and yell out ”Drop that muthaf**ka!” If energy was the problem before it isn’t anymore; Drop will get major spins in the club (and give music directors an exercise in editing).
This is actually a good track for ying yang twins. I could hear this playing all day on the radio! I am still not a big fan of this type of rap, but there is a market for it, so I will put it in rotation like the radio stations probably will.
While the YYT are struggling to find an identity outside of Collipark, dude is sitting behind a desk and laughing at all the music he has made from Hurricane Chris and Soulja Boy.
Are the Ying Yang twins back? I sure hope so. None of the newcomers who are trying to put out classic club bangers can do it like the Twins. However, the terrible quality scratches have to go, this ain't no DJ Premier ish.
mayyyne when i heard that beastie boy sample "DROP!!" i was like...mayyyyyyyyyyne dem boys killed it with that. i could picture myself actin obnoxious in the car head bangin at the red light to this....5 starzz goin DUMB
