When a rapper finds himself unpredictably alone with one of his groupies, the inevitable result is that she will Stay The Night. Just ask San Francisco reppa’ Ya Boy, who spent a whole day with one of his outrageous female fans. Unbelievably, as Ya Boy explains in the song, the pestering groupie got so annoying that he ended up bringing her along on tour just to keep her quiet. While that story isn’t exactly a classic, major style points go to producer David Foster, who interpolates Chicago‘s classic of the same name. Long overdue for some props and a major label meal ticket, Stay The Night might just get Ya Boy into bed with the right people. Well, that’s if he cuts ties with K-Fed…
I really like the way the producer uses the sample in the chorus. Too bad Ya Boy is so Wack! I don't feel this dude's flow at all. I think this was a waste of a good beat. I can't get with the flow.
Definitely not a big fan of Ya Boy. And this track doesn't really help me reconsider. Beat isn't bad in my mind, has a lot of potential, its too bad Ya boy misses the mark by a lot.
DAMN, the beat is crazy!!! Too bad Ya Boy didn’t live up to it, but he didn’t ruin it either! Actually I didn’t find his flow that bad. I’m rating this 5* only so other people will hear it (I almost didn’t because of the rating). 4* for me cuz it’s straight banger!
Downloaded his mixtape Optimus Rime, liked it, he consistently spit well I thought. The sample on this is off the hooks and I think he raps well on it, decent lyrics, and beat is pretty nice. I like some of his other songs better haha even the one he has with K-Fed is decent (did I say that?) hahaha
Let's consider: Ya Boy hooked up with K. Fed for one song and it lowered his DJBooth cred by 100x. If Weezy made a song with K. Fed, all bets are off on what the feedback would be. Just a little nugget of thought for you on this wonderful Friday morning. Oh, and major props for a Chicago sample.
DJ Z, there's a difference between someone at the bottom tryin to use a famous person to make it, and someone on the top using someone below him. Especially when that famous person isn't cool like K-Fed. Ya Boy makin a song w/K-Fed means he's a loser hangin out w/losers. Weezy? Would he even bother? Probably not, cause he knows it's dumb. Imagine Weezy and Vanilla Ice...
Nice production, but not the right rapper for it. David Foster should have definitely sold this to someone else. Ya Boy is just average, which to me means I wouldn't give it another listen.
i disagree with all of you on this . this song is sickk . and the lyrics are wild. nice beat . ya boy is the future of hip hop ya boy . straight westcoast music . this is a banger..!
Ya Boy is unbelievably underated. Blaze listen to his other stuff he has much better songs. Everybody should listen to 100 more bars on the we fly high beat. lyrics are FIRE!!! YA BOY bringin the west back.
