XV - A Night to Remember
Producer: Seven
Album: Unreleased
Label: Square Bound Music/Warner Bros.
It’s not on board the Last Train to Paris and it’s not from a future T-Wayne album. Fittingly enough, the last track that I have the good graces of reviewing this year comes from an artist I’ve written about more than any other in 2010, XV. Originally recorded for XV’s TKWTGB, an album that’s almost reached Detox-witholding status (hey, I said almost), A Night to Remember is a fresh joint that will have you hooked for more from the kid from Squaria well into the New Year. Backed by an impressive floating production from constant collaborator Seven, Vizzy uses his bars to romance his latest fly girl with a night of wining and dining, from limos to clubs to…well, you don’t have to be R. Kelly to figure out the rest: “We got back to the Suite and she got a sweet tooth, she pulled out the ice cream, baby let me feed you.” While this is just one Night to Remember, let’s hope you’ve had many in 2010, with many more to come. Happy holidays and have a great New Years BoothHeads. It’s been a pleasure.

Didn't really like this one, even though XV and Seven are unstoppable.

I think both XV AND Seven missed the mark on this track. I will be completely honest with my rating despite the fact that I enjoy their work.

Not my favorite XV track by any means. In terms of what XV is capable of in my eyes this is a 3. Nice job!

Longtime supporter of XV (and by extension Seven), but there is a reason this song will now forever be classified as "unreleased." Its average.

Like everyone else i love XV but this is far from his best. A rough hook, and average production are major factors.

I have high expectations from XV so that's why this track just average for me when it comes to his rhyme and flow. But I loved the production by Seven on this track, nice, smooth and won't put you to sleep. A good track to sit under the stars on a quiet summers night and crack open a few VB's (in Australia anyways).
I'm so glad he signed to Warner, now he can finally release an album... 3.5 |
