Everyone’s favorite unsigned rapper XV says that his new song Now Jump is “speaking on the mindstate I’m going in with my new project, Look What I Can Do”, and if that’s true than we can expect the project to be a dope, dark work. Produced by XV himself, Now Jump is a live-instrumentation oriented track that opens sounding like an 80s song and then explodes into an orchestral work built around some soaring strings and heavy percussion. As always, Vizzy’s lyrics are really the story here, and although he does drop the occasional pop culture reference (Jimmy Superfly Snooker anyone?) for the most part Now Jump is a decidedly serious work, touching on his struggles and self-doubt as he tries to rise through the ranks of an unforgiving rap game. XV insists that he hasn’t decided on a final tracklist of Look What I Can Do, which has no set release date, but I’m sure the Booth’s response will weigh into his decision. Have at it.

I cant hate a xv song and i think alot of his music as of late has been more lyrically dense. I'll like this one but i wont rock it forever like i still do with a.d.d. which is my favorite xv song.

I wanna say thanks to DJ Booth for introducing me to XV!! Every song that i've heard from him have been on this great site and aside from that all those songs have been HOT!!
I agree can't believe he aint signed yet!! Maybe he waiting for a better deal than what they might be already offering him!! |

M.A.C.B. brings up a great point. At times I'm still stuck in that old school major label = success mentality, when the truth is XV is probably much better off staying on the independent grind and building himself up without a major sticking its hands in his pockets. So here's to XV staying unsigned.

The sh!t will have you head nodding, mimicking the feeling of Justice League's production, but yet stands out as his own product. Jallday was on the same page I am. Hell I will raise the money to sign him... he can run his stuff all he wants... I will just take 1/2 of a percent and will still make a killing. There has to be some reason behind the scenes that we aren't privy to, cause I can't think/see a single reason why he isn't signed with some major label.

Yo this is exactly why I prefer to listen to unsigned artist as opposed to some mainstream cat that the industry is trying to tell me to like. XV's time will come cuz he's a lot better than a lot of artist out there today. This song bangs. Promote good music yall.

Definitely enjoyed this. Nice laid back beat, with meaningful lyrics. Something I'd sit back with time on my hands and listen to in order to understand what he's saying, rather then pop it in on the go. 3.5 Rounding up.
