Being Mr. “Wait, how isn’t that dude signed!?” is nice, but it can only last so long. While XV’s built a fiercely loyal fanbase around his innovative lyrical and creative style (see his last feature T.A.L.K.) so far the labels have yet to hop on the Vizzy bandwagon, largely I suspect because they’re not sure how to market him. Enter Gettin’ BiZzy, the new, radio-ready single cut from the young Kansas emcee. Featuring a club-ish-esque beat from constant production partner Seven, BiZzy is definitely not your average XV track, even if his flow is (thankfully) as swag-free and pop-culture reference heavy as always: what other rapper works John Locke and Lost references into his rhymes? While I’m frankly skeptical that this track can find a home on radio (the hook needs help), it should prove to labels that XV’s capable of making music that appeals to the masses, and that might prove to be just as valuable. BiZzy is the first leak of XV’s long-awaited new project Vizzy Zone, presented by LRG, which is finally set to drop in August. Get ‘em Vizzy.

The production was dispointing, Viz came correct as always lyrically on the track, his flow was on point.

P.S @ DJ Z: when are you guys coming out with Android app?

Production is way too "biZzy"; XV is a lyrically-focused rapper, and his flow works better with simpler beats (Mirrors Edge, Life vs Living etc.) Usually Seven understands that...
Didn't like the hook, but Vizzy went hard on the verses. 2.5 stars

Seven can do better, hook needs work but XV doesn't disappoint. Just can't wait for this dude to give us more really talented.

Haha why such low ratings? I thought XV carried this song off great. Production wasn't expected, but still, it's good to see seven switch it up and come up with something really unique. XV's verses were the best part of the song and the hook was actually really enjoyable on my part. Can't wait for Vizzy Zone.

XV is one of my favorite artists right now, but I'm not really feelin this song. It just doesn't have the old XV feel. Just one of those songs that get away cus we all know Seven is a dope producer and XV of course is usually great on the simplest of beats...idk i just would keep it simple.

There's a strong club feeling here, which is, a relatively specific sound I was waiting for XV to tackle for a long time. And for the first time XV and Seven has even attempted anything this fully geared for the mainstream, the duo definitely succeeds with this well-executed bid at club love.

Now, that production is straight dope! It kicks off with what sounds like Ghungroos (anklets with bells, worn by classical Indian dancers) masterfully layered with what sounds like digitally harmonized squawkings of crows - a strange combination but a catchy one, more importantly, and I can't stress this enough, it's use is restrained just enough to work wonders in short bursts, never grating while staying fresh even thru repeat listens. It's a refreshing experimental sound, and it's all tethered to rumbling sub-bass and knocking drums, that's completely explosive and has serious club potential. An intriguing sound that would make Bangladesh (or Cha-Lo, depending on who you ask) real jealous.

The flow alone is more than enough to carry the song, but lyrically, XV provides the sleek and sturdy beyond-basic punchlines that stands center-stage on this joint. I understand why people saying, this may not be the best song XV has ever written but full marks need to go to a young duo who are spreading their wings and experimenting with new approaches. If this doesn't hit you the first time, give it a few more listens. It wasn't entirely instant for me too, but I'm loving it now. Either way, it's a promising start to a project I've been anticipating for some time now.

As a declaration of intent hook's adequately done, if not very original and somewhat feels like they paid least amount of attention to it. It's straightforward, but straightforward is okay if the lyrics and beat are this good. Overall, the lack of a strong anthem-in-waiting hook does not hinder the song’s replay value, for me.

I've been waiting on a song like this from XV, honestly I can't stand that anoying beat or 'get em vizzy' but I'm really glad to see XV going on a more mainstream appeal scene. Hopefully I lke his next try alot more...

*pauses 'losing the signal' and plays 'getting biZzy'*

in comparison they are completely different with the former taking the points. if i look at 'getting biZzy' by itself though there is a lot to admire. first of all Xv's lyrical depth and flow was on point. the beat was slightly annoying but it fits with what XV is trying to do so it is easily tolerable. different, but good

Big fan of XV - hell, we introduced him to the Booth over 3 years ago. This is indeed a new sound for him, which during the verses works (but not so much during the average chorus).

@149th - Soon, promised.

It feels like this track was less about making a dope song and more about being able to say, "see, look, I can make this type of song." XV lyrically is on point, but I have to agree and say the hook needs work, and the beat sounds a little forced.

Couldn't possibly be more stoked to hear Vizzy Zone - we've all been waiting for XV to blow for a minute, and the time feels like it's at hand.

Its ok, the lyrics are solid but the hook is kinda dry to me. Not as good as T.A.L.K. but still enough to make me check more from him in the future

Vizzy defiantly was on point in his verses even with his average hook and the beat wasn't a problem for me.
