Back in July, XV burned his initials into DJBooth.net’s high score chart with Mirror’s Edge, the lead single off his acclaimed Everybody’s Nobody mix-album. Now, the Kansan buzzmaker’s back to build buzz for his forthcoming EN remix project with another round of free-running action. Though the differences between Seven’s‘s revamped beat and the dreamy original boardwork are somewhat subtle (this version’s rhythm is a bit more relaxed), just about everything else is brand new. Michigan’s Mike Posner heightens the spaced-out ambiance with a raspy rendition of the headliner’s original hook, and Southern icon/guest rapper extraordinaire Bun B delivers a gymnastically-flowed opener sure to turn heads in the Booth. Topped off with Chi-town emcee GLC‘s agile middle bars and a new closing verse in which the XV reveals his penchant for running across the walls of his apartment (don’t try that one at home, kids), this revamp will likely meet just as warm a reception as the original. I expected Big Names for the Remix but having Bun B in the mix ....
Some people are just blessed with a voice you can listen to for days and Bun B is one of them. If this joint is anything like the rest of that "Remix Album" we got something special coming our way from Vizzy! ... XV consistently writes poignant, thoughtful, uber-creative lyrics that are often introspective, and culturally relevant over some of the most catchy tunes on the web, it’s about time this guy makes an impact on a more mainstream level. |

 Excellent track here. Chorus is on-point and Bun B is just a beast. Can't complain here. The track has an un-mastered/mixtape feel to it (especially the chorus) which would be my only real complaint. Otherwise, this bangs.

Love the beat! I haven't actually heard the original yet so I'll have to check that out. Anyway, always look forward to listening to Bun B, he sets this off right and the rest just flows perfect from there.

This song is crack. His whole mixtape is incredible. This remix however is on a whole nother level. Bun killed it as usual. GLC sounded like Bubba Sparkx to me on this one, but I loved his verse. Mike fit right in like a glove.

XV is definately one of the best artists out right now. His mix-album, Everybody's Nobody, was a classic. XV could surely be the next best thing for mainstream hip-hop.
Bun-B delivered an awesome guest verse like he is known to always do. GLC did his thing as well. Mike Posner representing SOUTHFIELD, MI where I'm from. I just got up on dude, but he is a talented singer/songwriter and he fit perfectly on this remix. I think Z should try to get an interview with him. The original was a classic track and so is this one. XV is that dude, for real. I can't wait for his next DJBooth.net feature to appear. |

I like the original chorus better, this guy sounds like the guy is going to do Marilyn Monroe rendition of Happy Birthday Mr. President. |

It's been a while since I've posted on The Booth, but I figured this song DESERVED a post since it is as big to me as it is to some of you all who have been following me on DJBooth for well over a year now and seen my progress.
But, this remix was a point in my career where I actually felt like...wow...this is REALLY happening? I'm from Kansas, a state right above Texas so you already know Bun B is KING around here. And for him to not only know who I was when I reached out, but to also deliver his verse in less that 5 hours of me asking, was remarkable to me. Expect some REALLY BIG REMIXES on the DJ Benzi project, and even more surprises on my album I'm currently working on. I appreciate DJBooth and everybody on The Booth for showing their support for my music. Much respect! |

This track is an experience, to say the least. I found myself getting caught in the feel of the track, especially during Posner's tranquilizing hook. Bun B and GLC's flows both fit perfectly on the track, just great.
