In the Old Testament, the corrupt world was flooded by heavy rains for 40 days and 40 nights, while an upright Noah, his family, and two of every animal were packed away safely in an ark. In a similar situation, minus the animals and the beard, Kansas MC XV will flood the online hip-hop market with a new song every morning and every evening for… you guessed it… the next 40 days. On the first night, the Squaria native invites everyone around him to put their hands up and give him a High Five. Also daring to be different is guest artist Theophilus London, in addition to producer Seven, who takes his production work out of this world and showers High Five with a Prince-like freshness that a cliché-ridden hip-hop scene has been missing. Continue to check XV’s MySpace page and DJBooth.net to hear what the emcee plans to rain down on listeners next.
my name is vizzy vizz vizzy x 2 the v. lol yall have to check that one. but yeah i like his flow in here, just the beat is a lil generic. but i think its pretty coo.
I miss those old video game systems. XV is sick man. This retro beat is fire. He's gotta do something with Lupe. That would be sick as flu. This bangs!!
The Lupe comparisons never stop with XV. Yes, the cadence is slightly similar, as is the vocal tone, but both emcees are unique enough to nix the parallels. Get ready for a crazy month and a half of new music...
This @*#$! is hot. There's really nothing generic about it other than maybe the repeating chorus line (which I'm not a huge fan of). But it works here. I really can't wait until he puts a lot of other rappers to shame lyrically. This dude pulls rhymes straight out nowhere. I'm really getting tired of gettin money, trappin, and rolling up to the club on 26's.
