Damn – when XV dreams, he dreams big. Having parlayed his fantasies of hip-hop superstardom into an honest-to-God rap career, the freestyle series alum‘s now looking to achieve a similar feat in the dating arena. His dream girl? A sexy Foreign Exchange Student who shares his musical tastes, smokes and drinks like a pro, and can school him at Street Fighter IV – all without a breaking a perfectly-manicured nail. Also, she’s from another planet. This unreleased joint finds beatsmith Miami Horror cooking up an infectious, retro-funky beat as XV details a vision of beauty sure to elicit a wistful sigh or two from any fella with remotely nerdy tendencies: “[She’s] fresh as f* ck… but at the same time she plays Marvel vs. Capcom 3, listens to the Pixies religiously and has like a 16 kill streak on Black Ops.” Not that a taste for indie-rock and Xbox gaming is required to appreciate this cut – complete with the producer’s falsetto hook vocals and a blistering synth solo by Awesome Sound, this record should charm anyone with ears. This cut has yet to be attached to a project, but you’ll be first to know when that changes. In the meantime, why not catch XV at one of the remaining dates on his currently-running tour?

From a fellow Squarian, this reminds me of 1997 for some reason. But it does go hard, don't get me wrong

Just caught onto XV this year. After just bumping 40 days 40 nights a couple a days ago i can say that most of those songs are better than this. Beat doesn't fit his voice cadence too well. Lyrically he's just average here.

This is a new sound for XV. I think a lot of us longtime Vizzy fans got stuck hearing him over a certain type of production (i.e. whatever Seven was cranking out), but that isn't fair to the man. While I don't feel like this record is up his alley - so to speak - it does show off his musical versatility.

I'm always impressed with Vizzy's versatility. He demonstrated on his mixtape, “40 Days and 40 Nights”, that he can rap on pretty much any type of beat. "Foreign Exchange Student" is yet another showcase of Vizzy's ability to blend different styles into something refreshing and unique. The Australian group, Miami Horror, adds a toe tapping beat, which, when combined with XV's carefree style, make this song an enjoyable listen. I was disappointed to see that Vizzy was left off the 2011 XXL Freshman list, but , with his own catchy, unique style, he is sure succeed.

I appreciate the distinction of production and the energy coming from the track but it's just not in the pocket for me, lyrically it leaves me wanting more. That beat is fresh though.

Hearing a retro-like beat/song is a unique thing, and it either works or it don't. Unfortunately, despite XV's versatility and attempt to approach music in a different perspective, I'm not feeling this song really well. Still a good beat tho.

I have to guess that this was a track XV did almost as an experiment, it didn't work quite well enough to go on a project, but it was too good to just leave sitting on his computer, so he released it as a stand alone.

Under those circumstances, its not half bad.

I've recently became a fan of XV and he's been consistent on his records. He still has a lot of room to grow though.

I give props to XV for switching up, but I don’t think it quite worked out.
