One of the Booth’s favorite newcomers, XV, has been quite the busy beaver (hey, I got tired of using the cliché “on his grind” line).  Before releasing his new, concept-driven LP, The Kid With The Green Backpack, first quarter of next year, the Wichita, Kansas-born emcee will drop a 2008 wrap-up mixtape, which is set to feature a combination of unreleased material and tracks that were featured in his successful 40 Days, 40 Nights series.  Straight from the cutting room floor is the Seven-produced Cooler Than Yo’ Boyfriend, an ode to every nerd who has ever attempted to steal a jock’s girlfriend.  Also before the end of the year, XVizzy plans to leak a record he recorded with Ne-Yo… which we’ll feature in our audio section sooner than later.

It's been a minute since we've gotten some XV on here from what I can remember. This song is CRAZY HOT! That chorus is insane and so catchy (not to mention good and NOT overused usage of the autotune), and damn XV went in! Listen to that flow, I am VIBING with this track. Only problem I can find is that it sounds like he's jockin the Cool Kids style a bit, but hey ideas are supposed to be copied. This one is a certified banger on the real, best I've heard from XV! This is the one that can get him on the radio and see himself some big success.

This is pretty good, but not really... understand? Me either...lol! The producaiton is crazy good and the chorus is pretty good, but the way everything else is put together... i just don't know. But i think this has potential to grow on me, i'd give it a 3!

I liked the track a lot. XV (sometimes please let me know if I pronounce it "XV" or "15"...lol). He shows his versatility on this one. I think it's a fresh new school hip hop track. FRESH KIDS STAND UP!

"And, I got my rap name, "XV", from the roman numerals of 15, which is the age I was when I decided to really pursue Hip-Hop as a career. And by that, I mean, I started my own record label, started producing and becoming a well known name on MP3.com and Soundclick, and I released my first independent album, "The Legacy" at that age. So, it was a major coming of age for me from the person that I was before I turned 15.

that's just a little information about how he got his name but still doesn't quite answer your question...anyway,

the rapping is good and the beat is okay. Overall, i kind of like this track but not so much that I would put it in rotation. OK.

I've heard better but the beat on this song is great, it really makes me move. I don't like the melody very much, they could have been better, but I think it's mainly the beat that makes this song. It's good for the clubs!
