Back in 2009, XV stated that Everybody’s Nobody. On his new record, Be There Be Square, the first release from his upcoming Popular Culture project, Vizzy states his grandmother told him “set out to be something, not someone.” So just who is XV? Simply put, he’s a Squarian. Produced by Xaphoon Jones (one-half of Chiddy Bang), BTBS features a cloudy and cheery tone over which XV examines his favorite rappers growing up and discusses the differences he came to realize exist between them and him, only to embrace his own lifestyle at the end. With a catchy hook Be There, Be Square should set the tone for what lies ahead as Vizzy will definitely be making his presence felt this summer; Popular Culture is due out June 15.

I wasn't feeling this at first, but I let it ride and it ended up being a pretty chill record. Nice production from Xaphoon.
