XV - A.D.D.
Artist: XV
Producer: Seven
Album: The Kid With The Green Backpack
Label: Square Bound Music/Warner Bros.
In today’s rap game, a slight case of A.D.D. may not be as much of a hindrance as you’d think—judging by the way many of today’s most acclaimed emcees jump from topic to tangentially-related topic, it seems like more of a prerequisite for success. Booth favorite XV, for one, holds his short attention span as a point of pride, and on the newly-released lead single off debut album The Kid With The Green Backpack, he and producer Seven join forces to make sure nobody in the spot will be able to sit still. A.D.D.‘s supernaturally crisp electro-funk groove is a far cry from, say, the more mellow instrumental Seven served up on mixtape title track Everybody’s Nobody, but proves a perfect backdrop for XV’s scatterbrained flow. Featuring a robotic intro and body-moving hook that are almost too catchy, this bracing, propulsive record is sure to leave inattentive hip-hop-lovers everywhere (myself included) itching for more. Green Backpack, produced entirely by Seven, is slated for release this summer; in the meantime, stay tuned for the Everybody’s Nobody mixtape, due out soon.

Started to smile as soon as the record began to play this morning. XV and Seven make for quite the talented, entertaining, and forward-thinking emcee/production duo.

It was creative. XV brought a different flow to this and the production is tight. In rotation.

Very strange track, in a good way for me. It has a retro/80's feel in a way, but kinda a futuristic/phsycadellic vibe too. I like the interesting production, and XV's quirky flow works perfectly over the top. The hook is a lil corny, but it is quite catchy tho. Tight track.

I see you J.Worthy, neither do i ... XV should have dropped 'Everybody's Nobody' as a lead single to his LP ... dat ish is CLASSIC.Period.
the production (energetic, catchy as it is) takes the focus off the lyrics... |

The intro threw me off a little bit.
When XV started spitting, he was dope though. The hook was hype and illy. I dug the joint. I'm a little interested in checking out his upcoming album "The Kid With The Green Backpack". Sounds eclectic. |

Listen to the entire song to feel it. Personally, I think it's dope, like most of XV's stuff.

Like Bullet with Slot-A, XV with Seven is sure hit!
It's funny they're featured tha same day cuz they fulfill the same category in my hip hop world: newcomers with energy, passion, talent and eclectic vibe! Production is amazing, love the chorus sounds, percussion is hot all over, bassline... damn! XV is GREAT, his flow is untouchable and always comes with catchy lyrics. |

Lovin the old school/futuristic production. Love the energy on the chorus. XV flows nicely on the jumpy track. BANGER!

i dunno if its still goin to be on the album, but its a good track to have on it. XV has some serious flow on here. unfortunatley, the beat and chorus are not as good. 3.5
