The title “young prodigy” has been thrown around numerous times, but Miami-native Xplicit might be the most deserving of the designation. Before the age of 17 he released six mixtapes and after a performance at the Calle Ocho block party in March of ‘07, he received a standing ovation from tens of thousands of fans in attendance. Now 19, X is ready to hit up the radio waves with the slow jam, I Want You. The song features former Pretty Ricky front man, Pleasure P, but the collaboration is a gift and a curse. While X gets his moneys worth from the hook, it likely will draw listeners away from the solid verses on either side. So is Xplicit a “young prodigy”? Sure, but he wants to be so much more.
Florida is HUGE right now, but I don't see anything special coming out of Xplicit. Pleasure P's nice hook and the mellow snare drum steal the show from Xplicit.
This actually sounds like it could get some radio play and liked by quite a few people. But Xplicit isn't doing anything that really stands out. Where as I've definitely taken notice of Pleasure P and he's making all the right moves.
The production on this track is very good and I wouldn't be surprised to hear this on the radio right now. I like Xplicit's flow on this track and Pleasure P does his thing for real on the chorus. This is HOT right here!
I hate the promo pictures where artists look mad, mean, angry or disappointed. People want to buy happiness! With that said, I don't think Pleasure P steals the show at all. In fact, I am going to tell him that. Look out for an exclusive with Pleasure P in two weeks!
Pleasure P is doin his thang 4 real on dis!!!!! i think every1 is watchin him real close since hez gone solo and its hard to become successful when all eyes are on U, but in my opinion he seemz to be doin da damM thing!!!!!! I like Xplicit on this too, nice flow
When artist pose like they are angry, it makes them look cool... yeah. So cool. And tough. However, that image is blown when they release a girly slow jam.
