If your life consists of sitting in front of a desktop, anxiously hitting the refresh button every 30 seconds in anticipation of new posts on DJBooth.net, you might want to take a page out of Wordsmith’s book and see the world. Just make sure to a bring a laptop so you can stay updated on the next revolution in music websites and its exclusive collection of audio features, interviews, charts, and reviews (end shameless plug). Anyways, Wordsmith has called everywhere from Kansas to Germany his home. His new track, The First 6 Months, is a semi-autobiographical account of the initial half-year of his career. Producer Capish contributes some celebratory strings and excited yelps. The song is an exclusive online release, so enjoy it while you can.
I'm with the other early reviews, I can't really get on a vibe with his voice. I like the lyrics though, hence the name Wordsmith, but I don't think his voice matches the prodction. Almost sounds a lil bit like Talib. 3/5 for the lyrics/production.
Capish killed this production and Wordsmith has a real nice swagger to his flow. I don't think enough people actually listen to the lyrics... it's too bad.
Z I don't listen to the lyrics coz I don't understand much of them...I do what I can! But I can say the production is on top and he flows well! At the beginning this track didn't catch me, thinking his flow wasn't matching the production at all, but then I changed my mind...it's in rotation!
Wordsmith is decent. The production is nice as well. I don't really feel him too much though. I'm not moved by his style. Oh, and Patty. I like the picture on your profile (when you click on your name and it goes to your booth.) That's fresh.
