Even among the fast-living crowd of rap hitmakers, Wiz Khalifa‘s dedication to debauchery separates him from the pack – the man loves weed, liquor, fast whips and faster women, and he’s not ashamed to admit it. That wasn’t always the case, though; on the latest leak off his and Snoop‘s forthcoming movie soundtrack, the Steel City native takes us back to a time when he was Young, Wild and Free, still uncorrupted by worldly pleasures. Nah, just pulling your leg; the young Khalifa portrayed here is just as enamored with King Kong-scale joints and dime pieces as he is today, he was simply balling on a smaller scale. Backed by The Smeezingtons’ light piano boardwork, Wiz puts a nostalgic spin on the usual weed rhymes, reminiscing about teenage follies and even mimicking an inexperienced smoker’s cough. Snoop grabs the mic for verse two, reflecting upon the inexorable march of time (OK, kush and cars figure in as well). Like what you’re hearing? I’ll give you three guesses as to when the soundtrack to Wiz and Snoop’s Mac & Devin Go to High School soundtrack is set to drop, and the first two don’t count (cough, 4/20, cough).

Wiz and Snoop sound like a long lost father and son. Their delivery and flow are not directly similar, but on the same track they feel distantly united. People will dig this record, especially with the poppy production and hook.

Really digging this collab (better than 'That Good'), the beat and piano melodies are very chill; and mixes the mainstream appeal with street-based themes.

I really enjoy how relaxed this record sounds. The song is aptly named, as the chillness rides throughout. It is a poppy-type track, but it isn't supposed to be hard. It is supposed to take you to your younger days. This song works well, I dig it.

As Snoop said at the end, this is supposed to be a young, high school track, and on that level it succeeds. In the movie this is the scene where Wiz is driving away from school after it gets out, while smoking a joint of course.

I'm really feeling Wiz Khalifa! That's my dude! And Z is right on with the long lost father/son analogy. I'm not really a fan of the chorus style, but both of them really put their flows on display here. Nice smooth beat.
