The 28th entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of Wiz Khalifa, the Pittsburgh native who brought us reader-acclaimed club bangers like Say Yeah and Make It Hot. On his brand new, previously-unreleased Runnin’ freestyle, the Pittsburgh native flows over Jay Dee‘s instrumental from the Pharcyde cut of the same name. Khalifa is currently preparing for the April release of his Flight School mixtape, which will include recent features Boarding Pass and Starstruck (Freestyle).

I LOVED the original cut by The Pharcyde (which I hadn't heard in at least 10 years), and this brought it all back. Wiz can no longer be slept on. Pittsburgh, stand up!

OOOO! i love the beat... this flow is INSANE!!!! Khalife isn't so high up in the books with me, but i gotta say this is a SWEET freestyle. the lyrics are smooth, n the song is just... just perfect.. this is something that he needs to keep up!

Oh damn this was sick. Like I wasn't even sure how good khalifa would do. i love his music but i've heard other rappers slip up on this, and khalifa doesn't always stick to the "ride the beat" style he used on say yeah. but this is fire. best yet, for sure.

I never slept on Wiz, anything he drops I'm gonna listen to. This was simply epic. Definitely top 3 freestyles from the series so far. Great work.

This isn't a bad freestyle at all. I really like - no, love Wiz's flow. He's very fluid in his flow. The beat, however, isn't working for me as much as some of the people above me. It's a tad on the boring side. But, his flow is sick, so I give him his props.

While not as refined and polished as Khalifa's previous hits in the booth, what do you expect, 'tis a freestyle. I'm waiting patiently for either more material from Wiz and for him to blow up...clearly the production here is sick as the original was a classic....was lucky enough to see Pharcyde do this at RTB last year but I digress.
Not the best freestyle I've heard at the booth, but definitely floating near the top... |

Still one of the @greatest beats ever made. Dilla you are still the SHIT! Wiz has some heat in his arsenal. This is deffinatly one of them. Not classic like the O@ version but ban@in!

DILLA RIP. Its hard not to sound tight on this beat. Khalifa comes original on it, especially with the brand new chorus. I think this is almost as good as K Spark's freestyle, so Ima give it a 4.
