As he revealed in his recent interview with our very own DJ Z, everyone’s favorite heavily tattooed rapper Wiz Khalifa doesn’t consider the time he spent signed to a major label a waste. Actually, Deal or No Deal, he still feels like he’s destined for success (bad pun alert). After dropping a mixtape (Burn After Rolling) and the first single off the album (This Plane), Khalifa is back and ready to wave Goodbye to anyone who’s ever dared hate on him. A synth-heavy track produced by Johnny Juliano that’s as swaggering as it is introspective, Goodbye showcases both Khalifa’s unmistakable style and unique lyrics (I haven’t heard a Steve Francis reference in a minute, I don’t think he’s even in the league anymore). I could do with a better hook, but other than that, Goodbye’s a banger. Khalifa’s upcoming album Deal or No Deal is set to drop on November 24. No confirmation yet on a guest verse from Howie Mandel.

Wiz and Juliano have done great things together - "Goodbye" is no exception. The beat is a monster and Wiz rides it very well. "Deal or No Deal" is shaping up nicely!

This was nice. The hook was the high point. I thought he could have come a little harder on the verses but still a solid effort. Really looking forward to this album. 3.5 for this.

This Plane is better than this, but it would be extremely hard to top that. I like the hook, lyrics were alright, beat was hot. Deal Or No Deal is looking pretty good. 3.5, but I see this growing on me more

My boy Wiz, he's been in my CD player forever man, can't wait for that album to drop. This song is good, I actually like the hook and think his delivery could have been a bit better, but he's improving as time goes and soon will be the Drake we all knew on DJBooth before anyone else who now bumps him everywhere they go.

I got to disagree with Z on this one. While I'm feeling Goodbye, this isn't even close to Wiz's best flow, if anything, it's one of his most uneven. And I know this is yet another example of how I fixate on small details, but Steve Francis hasn't played on the Rockets for a year. I'm just saying, if you're going to drop an NBA reference make sure it makes sense. By contrast Weezy's sports punchlines are always on point.

Pretty typical routine joint, stuttering drum kits, steady synths, heavy bassline, decent raps and hook is weak. Subject matter is nothing to write home about. Okay at very best.

Mos definitely a banger...I've been excited about a Wiz Khalifa album ever since I heard "say yeah" eons ago...I've got to agree that I'm pretty much always impressed with anyting he puts out...can't wait 'till Nov. 24th.
@ DJ Booth Crew I'm experiencing technical difficulties accessing the website from my home as I am always re-directed to some other spam-ish type websites? I'm ok when at work, but at home I can't even get to the main page without another one loading up on me, I also have no way of getting back? What the deal? I'm pretty frustrated as this website is for sure a daily visit and is without a doubt a favourite of mine. I've tried with IE and Chrome...what's happening here? any help? anybody???? |

This is the 1st Wiz song that I have to say didn't "wow" me upon impact. I'm putting it in rotation because it wasn't bad, just expect so much more from Wiz. I'm sure it will grow on me.

I'm sorry, but hasn't this beat been made like 1,000 times now? As an artist I find that hip hop lacks more inspiration from within the music than any other genre. I'm not saying Khalifa doesn't have any talent, but that this sound is played as fu*k (on top of it being an overly synthesized not so great sound at all).

Before This Plane I had never heard of Wiz before but after my ears were blessed with that cut I've been loving everything he does.
Deal or No Deal was a very good album. First album Iv bought physically in over 5 years. I like what hes doing. |
