Despite scoring a hit with ‘08’s Say Yeah, Wiz Khalfa still hasn’t managed to secure a release date for his debut LP, First Flight. While such delays would lead most artists to consider changing their label situation, Wiz is just getting started. In keeping with the aviation theme, the emcee’s set to take listeners to Flight School with the March 31st release of a new mixtape. Today, Khalifa, picks up his Boarding Pass and takes off for a lyrical training exercise, hoping he can make a strong impact when his flight lands. The ever-unpredictable Johnny Juliano laces the beat, which is highlighted by the synth-organ combo (similar to M-16‘s on Playaz Circle‘s Duffle Bag Boy). Check back in late April or early May, when Wiz spits his contribution to our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series.

um, this is pretty coo i guess but i wouldnt listen again.. usually his flow is fitting but idk if this really works. |

Hmmm, not feelin this one. I like his party records better, this harder style isn't really real to me. The chorus was weak too, horrible useage of autotune. With that being said, I will go into my iTunes and play "Say Yeah" really loud now.

Let's just get this out there... I am a HUGE fan of this man's work. I like his swag (yeah, I said it), his flow, his attitude, and his choice in production work. This is extremely enjoyable... and its just a mixtape track. Just wait, people. Just wait.

He spits some tight rhymes at the beginning, but I began to lose interest. The hook could have been better. The production was decent on here. In rotation. This guy has talent though.

Im feeling this, the guy spits good rhymes & and his flow always seems to suit the production. He should of been the winner of the 08 club track of the year in the DJbooth awards, but got screwed...lol
I cant believe his album hasnt dropped yet |

The production sounds solid and the synth sets a perfect theme for the Flight School idea. His rhymes are average but his flow is perfect and his change of pace throughout the song is good. Solid song by Wiz Khalifa!

Hope no one is still sleeping on Khalifa man, dude is dope, in the context of his body of work he's definitely cruising on this jawn, nothing new or eye opening lyrically, but beat knocks, nice melodic mix with the flow and hook ..

Since his freestyle over Kanye's "Say you will"(CHECK IT on his page on djbooth), this guy's talent as a rapper is unquestionable!
So I'm here only to rate the song, and it is a banger for sure: the beat just demands it (I mean, did I hear a bell?! Come on, that's classy!) and Wiz delivers with a dope flow (the rap/singin is just great, on another level!)! |

Ah I always wondered if Wiz could do something like this. Might I suggest some adlibs inbetween lines, kinda dead air there. Hook is kinda lacking but I'm feelin the song.

The beat doesn't do it for me. Say Yeah and Make It Hot(personal favorite of his) are way better imo. Lyrically he is good on the track. Expected a better beat.
