In preparation for the release of his forthcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape, The Fly, Aphilliates up-and-comer Willie The Kid has shifted into full-on promotional mode.  Remembering how supportive the Booth community was leading up to the release of his debut mix-album, Absolute Greatness, Willie’ personally slid us an exclusive.track.  On the mixtape cut, making its world premiere at this very site, the Grand Rapids-born, ATL-based rapper lets us in on some Real Sh*t; flowing over AMG in-house producer Detroit Red‘s low-key, old-school samples, the artist admits that, though he knows he’s destined for greatness, he’s still wary that industry shenanigans could derail him on his way to the top.  Those who enjoy this exclusive cut can look forward to Willie The Kid’s contribution to our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series, set to premiere after the series resumes in September.

Willie's been on my radar for a while now. And I was impressed with this. I liked the production and I really liked how he kept up a strong flow throughout the course of the song. Solid premiere.

Willie has such a laid back approach on the mic, its almost as if its effortless for him to spit a rhyme. Don't be fooled, though, as WTK puts in hella work to always continue to get better. That's real sh*t!

YOOOOO this track is fire, at least four stars. Can we get some love on the booth for laid back beats and rhymes? Smooth beat, solid rhymes, what more do you want?
