Crazy as it may seem to those of us who know the meaning of the word “downtime,” there are people out there who thrive on being constantly in motion; even if they could be convinced to slow their pace, the boredom would quickly drive them up the wall. A member of this supernaturally-productive breed, Wait for Me emcee Will Brennan fills us in on his hectic, but exhilarating lifestyle on new single Get By. Making its world premiere right here in the Booth, this high-energy selection finds beatsmith J. Cruz taking inspiration from indie-rock group Spoon’s The Way We Get By, bolstering the early-2000s hit’s piano-led groove with punched-up percussion and grinding guitar riffs as the artist elucidates his breakneck approach to the hustle: “Black dude, breakin’ rules, zippin’ it like I’m tryin’ to win / Head first. Brennan should attract a hoard of new fans after "Get By" makes the rounds. Nice sampled production work by J. Cruz, who obviously knew what style Brennan would sound good over. Repeat-worthy indeed.

Awesome production, I love indie-rock flips. Brennan really makes the song his, instead of a "The Way We Get By" remix. His flow is on point and his fast paced style and high energy are the highlight of this track. Great beat, and Brennen's contribution really solidifies this track as a banger.

This song is hottt, like most of will's other stuff.... I've been keeping an eye on him, and nothing but more awesome will come from this kid... but you know the two main reasons he's gunna make it big? 1. He's versatile, I've listened to more than a handful of different styles that will pulls off with ease. 2. The Wayward Minds crew that is supporting him... They are a tight knit group that is full of young, smart (the crew that i know all has Bachelor degrees from UF), extremely motivated just like will, and the creative flow bouncing back and forth between them is nothing that i have seen. I'm on board will. See you at the top.
