Whitney‘s back! What more do I need to say? (Okay, my blurbs are typically longer than that, so I’ll keep going).  Having triumphed over the two big troubles in her life (Bobby and the coke), Ms. Houston will soon be releasing her long-awaited seventh studio album.  On I Look To You, the singer will deliver a classic mix of powerful ballads and feel-good ‘80s dance hits, free from any pressure to conform to current industry trends (translation: no Auto-Tune). A strong entry in the latter category, the Alicia Keys-penned second single finds Houston paying soulful tribute to a man who makes her feel like Million Dollar Bill.   If it hadn’t been officially announced by Arista, few would have suspected Swizz Beatz of producing the track (notice that there are no big horns or hip-hop percussion).  Brimming with nostalgic, feel-good energy, this track will have Whitney’s fans dancing just as hard as they were 20 years ago.  I Look To You drops August 31—go get it! (‘nuff said!)

I was FLOORED when I heard Swizz did this production. Alicia wrote one helluva record and Whitney (whose pipes are not what they once were) still sounds amazing. This brings me back...

A winner in my book! Grown and sexy stuff.

I'm impressed that Swizzy did such a good job with this production (a lot of his production's sound very similar) and he really expanded his range here. Whitney's still got it! I wasn't around when her big hits came out but I've heard a lot of them and it doesn't sound like her voice has dropped off too much.

Damn, Swizzy, I underestimated you. Whitney came strong and that Alicia Keys touch can definitely be felt. Banger.

This is waaay different than what I had expected when clickin on the track. Swizzy does some really tight old-school flavored production work, and was really surprising to me. The production worked very well wit Whitney's vocals, which need no comment.

Everyone has complimented the production, and rightly so, as it really embodies "Whitney Houston" music. I'm a bit taken back at how throwback it is, but with a bit of a current touch of style. I'll have to give this a few good listens to see if I really like it.

One downside I'm finding is that Whitney's voice is a little subpar for me. Knowing that alicia pen'd the track, I can't help but wonder whether or not the song would sound better with alicia on the microphone...

track is not bad but the transperency factor hurts it. it used to be a time when you couldn't who wrote a song for an artist (i.e. the many songs R. Kelly has written). I can just hear Alicia Keys singing this without knowing she was the writer.

DAMN!! Swizzy snapped on the production tip, sounds nothing like anything that swizz beats would do. It sounds like a nice groove track from the 70’s ...
Alicia knows how to write a feel good song and Whitney knows how to give a damn good vocal performance. Gotta agre with @DJZ - Her voice is distinctive and still good, but not as rich as it used to be. Mature audience will love it.

She still got it. And it can go somewhere with the right production and lyrics. She still got better vocals than most modern RnB females anyway lol

Whitney went to the newest power couple for music. I think it was a great move, A Keys can do no wrong. Swizy hit her with a nice two stepper. Her voice sounds sweet as it always did in the 80s and 90s. This is a good look. ( I honestly think that swizzy is a better artist than he is a producer. Have you seen some of his work? Amazing)
