Folkz - Steal My Hair
Artist: Folkz
Producer: V6
Album: AlphaDogg
Label: NU Revolution Ent. LLC./Topp Dogg Hill
An engaging, thought-provoking story told within the lyrics of a song is something that is teetering on the brink of extinction within the music industry, not because most artists don’t have the desire to do it, but because most don’t have the skill to pull it off. On Steal My Hair, the follow up to previous Booth feature The Waiting Line, Whitefolkz sits us down for story hour (or…story…four minutes?) to tell us how a girl he barely knew and fell asleep with tried to, well, steal his hair. Backed by some street-influenced, jazzy production from V6, Whitefolkz tries his best to make us believe that the girl tried to cut off his hair while he was sleeping. Don’t believe him? Well, if your hair is long enough to cut with a pair of scissors, listen to this track and see if it doesn’t make you gasp in terror…or laugh hysterically - either one. Keep an eye out for Steal My Hair on Whitefolkz’ new album Alphadogg, set to drop April 20.

Whitefolkz first Booth feature did so well that I told him to send us new music anytime. He wasted no time. Thus, we have "Steal My Hair."
I don't care if the story is reality or fiction, but the head-bobbing effect that is has is undeniable. Not as catchy as his first effort, but I'm a fan and looking forward to his AlphaDogg project. |

No matter how weird this title is, you can't not listen from beginning to end to this. It's a good song with a story and lil bit catchy tune. Gotta watch out people can make money selling hair to make wigs.

lol "anybody ever tell yah you look like kid-rock" line had me crackin.
i like this joint dj-z right this is something you bump too but its a one listen track though its funny witty nasty and very explicitive but thats what made it enjoyable. haha "and the girl had a ride like danica patrick" that line alone made this song 3 stars its intresting. |

Could have really done without the intro, I don't see the purpose to it. O shit did he just throw a Kid Rock reference into this? Haha, well I didn't exactly hate it. Definitely not your typical rap song which is not a bad thing either.
Has some really clever verses and one liners. Definitely starting to see the story-telling aspect to this song play out. Okay so maybe the intro does make some sense now that I have heard more of the song. Wow the end to this one is pretty funny. I mean a title like Steal My Hair definitely should have sent up some signals for me that this was going to be a bit different. Overall not a bad song, just different. And like I said, different does not mean bad. Solid record. |

It's so rare to hear an artist having fun while throwin down rhymes! It's usually about intensity, focus, and inflection, and that's great to a point.
This track is pretty fresh in its laid back approach. The goofy bass line and background drums are accented by the occasional organ or horn....pretty minimalist, but it lets you focus on the goofy rhymes. Give it a go... just don't steal his hair. |

this dude is ffunny make fun of those white chik groupies "are you on those rapper guys" haha
hes a good storyteller and came up with a well very interesting concept. Its like me watching a comedy like "Epic Movie" i might laugh at a couple of jokes and all but i dont think ill watch it again. production is head nodding worthy so ill give it a 2.5 ok 3 |

I remember when he performed this song out in baltimore at a spot called the black hole.
he went through the whole song without missing a word. crazy. not that it matters to the quality of the song, but if WHITEFOLKZ, says its a true story, it definitely is. Have you not read his twitter timeline? check it out if you have not lls as far as the song, the beat isnt really my taste, but NO ARTISTS are making story telling songs, with comedy like this. gotta give it 5 stars. |

The story line is clever as hell, original and fun. It makes you feel like you are sitting around listening to this story being told.
It also nice and refreshing to hear a Hip Hop track every once in a while that isn't giving me (as a female) dance instructions.... I can't wait to hear the rest of Alpha Dogg next week! |

DJ Z couldn't have said it better with the fact that it has a "head-bobbing effect"...I love the beat on here. Whitefolkz seems like a guy you would really want to be friends with considering he probably always has funny stories to tell such as "Steal My Hair"...as soon as I pressed play and heard the beginning it had me wanting to hear the whole story all the way to the end. Looking forward to some more from him

He has a great flow and a great ability to tell a story. Lyrics aren't great, but that's not what he was aiming for on this (though they are good). Funny track. I enjoyed the hell out of it.

This track completely reminds me of NWA's classic joint "She Swallowed It" with the narration and storytelling and the smooth beat. And I agree with everyone else...funny! This is like the Sampson and Delilah rap of the ghetto. Dime tried to steal his swag by chopping off his hair! Dude is a sharp lyricist and that's a rare quality in a sea of rap garbage that invades the radio. I liked his first effort too with Wordsmith. I'm looking forward to his mixtape on Tuesday!
