Cali trio, the Western Union, is preparing for the release of their self-titled LP with the fittingly-titled new single, Western Union. After the success of their street album, House Shoe Musik Vol. 1, the group is pledging unity as Long Beach’s Soopafly, Inglewood’s Damani, and Watt’s Bad Lucc team up for a “gangster celebration.” With Snoop Dogg playing the big-face behind the band’s new name, the team’s unrelenting love for everything West Coast recreates the same musical ambiance that the Westside Connection and Tha Dogg Pound made notable during the early-to-mid 90’s. Look out for the release of their Doggystyle/Koch-distributed project later this summer.
This sounds like that old school funky West Coast ish but it can still definitely be rocked out to today. There's something missing in the beat, maybe a keyboard melody or different base line to go alone with the synth loop.
i cant see this song doin' much outside of the westcoast...it has the potential to become an anthem of sorts...has some heavyweights behind the scenes...so on that alone it may get up
I'm with everyone on this one. 3 stars. I like the live sound. The da da dada sound is not necessary. The lyrics are decent. I'm feelin that electric gitar.
LOL....Western Union...the bank? Interesting. Soopafly's production is decent. I'm feeling the singing vocals on the hook and the rappers' flow is bouncy and catchy. I can rock with track. Definitely. It goes in rotation.
Nothing unheard of, but its has worked... so why change anything? I love the Soopafly production, this man is sooo underrated. Check out his resume. This will have a hard time catching on nationally, but will be a local hit.
I agree with Z. Soopafly has been doing it for a long and hardly disapoints. I like this song. It has a good feel to it. But I'm more partial to artist out here cause thats where I'm from
