As one of the top lyricists in the game with significant crossover appeal, Wale has obviously decided that 2011 should start out with a hit, and with his potential new single, the appropriately cool Let’s Chill, Mr. Folarin may have just that. Featuring the radio-friendly Lloyd, Chill finds the duo relaying an important message to all the ladies, “I just want to make love to your mind.” (Could it be that Lloyd listens to dead prez?) Whatever the case may be, in addition to the usual sugary sweet sentiments, Wale adds a couple of one-liners to hold hip-hop heads over: “My affinity’s infinity/ Put that on everything, these other bitches anything” and “I’m on some 40 days and night sh*t/ Feeling like its Ramadan and I just need a bite quick.” Combine that vocal groundwork with production from Tone P - via one of the hottest beatmaking groups Best Kept Secret - that sounds tailor made for a hot video and the DMV emcee seems aimed at a very successful 2011, which will likely include his as-yet untitled sophomore album. (But seriously, is Let’s Get Free in Lloyd’s iTunes?)

you ever get it where you listen to an artist to much that after awhile you dont even wanna click on their songs? Yea that happened with me with wale after he dropped his album, but I got outta that and I'm feeling this track. Been listening to a lot of wale recently, he's been putting in work and releasing some good stuff |

Wale still needs THAT record to blow up, unfortunately this isn't it but it's still a good gem to find while browsing the net. Lloyd was a great choice for the hook but Wale took his same flow and approach to this record that we've heard in the past. Looking for big things from him in '11 though.

This track contains everything but that wow factor to push it to banger status. The production is good, but not bangin. Lloyd's vocals are smooth, but his hook is not too catchy. Wale is impressive on the verses, but not enough to stand out.

Lloyd is going to be everywhere in 2011...I can see it now. Anyway, Wale sounds pretty good on here. Production is nice. This can go into rotation. Lloyd sounds good once again...

Decent record, but nothing that is going to blow up the radio, excite borderline fans, and help to get a soph album on store shelves.
Blaze, Lloyd has been everywhere for the past 5 years. People forget how many guest appearances this man has made as a hook singer. |

To be honest, I enjoyed both the production and Wale's delivery on this track. Lloyd brought it down a bit, in my opinion. Solid record, but I agree with other members, nothing amazing.

It's ok... won't be huge hit, but a good song none the less, the stereotypical radio friendly song, so I wont be listening to it. But still a decent song

The industry doesn't give a lot of second chances, can Wale regain his "next big thing" status? Um....maybe.
I have to agree with cb, this is a nice hip-pop track, but it's nothing outstanding. It sounds like Wale still hasn't figured out how to balance his lyrical and radio hit sides. |

I have been a big Wale fan forever. He has some serious talent, and is the most underrated person in the game. And thats understandable cuz he still hasnt had a serious hit song yet. And this defenitly isnt that song. I do like the production from Tone P. Also, i like Wale's verses in this. But i really dont like Lloyd in this. I dont like Lloyod at all. I have never liked anything he has made... Hopefully Wale will get that big hit song one day. Good luck.

I dont see why a lot of critics are bagging on him recently because he has done a few tracks with some mainstream artists. He knows what sells and has gone in that direction but I refuse to believe that he will stop making lyrical tracks. On this song he proves the doubters that he can be lyrical on a club banger. Most artists fail to do that because nowadays there is no need to do that when all you need is a hot beat and hook to create a chart-topper. This guy had one of the dopest mixtapes in 2010 so cut him some slack please. I actually enjoy a every once in a while mainstream track by Wale. Dude has versatility like Lamar Odom.

Wale's flow is certainly unique, but the concept and chorus are too simple and boring for me.
I also don't really like this collabo, CB or Trey would have sounded better with Wale. |

Wale you did it again. Wale's flow is crazy with a nice hook and another go-go infused beat. Loving it.

Is this not the track that will break him out to the mainstream. Hes using production that does not match his flow and if hes going to use this type of production he needs to change his approach towards the track.

you can hear how unseasoned the producer is without his partner in crime ... the mix on this record is terrible ...

The hook is catchy enough, but as a whole the song lacks substance.

I actually heard this a couple days ago, and its been stuck in my head ever since. The production does its job (although another synth on the hook woulda been better), its bangin, and a excellent step in the right direction after the fiasco that was his 1st album...its not gonna top the charts but it will give him some buzz. Hmm, maybe signing with Ross wasnt a bad idea after all
