Wais P (The Pimp) - You See It
Artist: Wais P (The Pimp)
Producer: DJ Premier
Album: Pimpin' Saved My Life
Label: Unsigned
Two years is a long damn time between features, but I’m willing to cut Wais P a break on this one, since I know how taxing it can be to balance a pimping business with your day-to-day grind. OK, to keep it one-hundred, I don’t know that firsthand – but, as someone who’s heard a song or two on the subject, I can tell you that it ain’t easy. Anyway, new single You See It finds the Brooklyn emcee filling us in on his activities since last we heard from him; over the street-ready string samples and expert cuts of hip-hop legend DJ Premier (who grabs samples from Jay-Z‘s Cashmere Thoughts, among many other sources), the emcee showcases much improved mic skills and penmanship, describing his luxurious but stressful lifestyle in verses peppered with clever punchlines and pop-culture allusions: “For the right wages, I’ll have you turnin’ more tricks than Cirque du Soleil.” Like how Wais P handles his business? Then you’ll want to keep it locked to the Booth for further details on Pimpin’ Saved My Life, which has yet to receive a solid release date.

Wais P is a solid rapper. Not flashy, not spectacular, just solid. But Wais P over DJ Premier production? Man, I'd say much more than solid... While he doesn't get the same credit or pub he used to back in the 90's, Premier continues to churn out essential hip hop production. Kudos to Wais P for being the beneficiary here.

I think that this a solid record. Not great, just solid. And im sure that this isnt gonna help his career, at all. This is a pretty boring song. The production from DJ Premier is boring as well. Just honestly not feeling it.

A lil biased but I personally love the record. Goes hard...play it LOUUD! Its also a real dj friendly record...it is a good record to use doubles.
Premier,Statik Selektah,Dj Wonder,Tony Touch,Kay Slay,Lonnie B,Don Demarco,J Ronin,Iroc ect. have all been showing love on this record! Btw Dj Z....Wais has released many songs this year including "Back Bitches" produced by Statik Selektah ,"Hustlers" ft. Black Rob & "How To Pimp" ft. The Mad Rapper |

I like Premier's production on this. As Z said he keeps churning out real Hip Hop.
Wais P kept the pimp game tight on this as well. |

Obviously not for everyone, but if you're in the mood for that straight laced, completely raw, hold no prisoners rap, you'd be hard pressed to do better.
I thought Wais' flow was nice, but, and I know this is sacrilegious to say, but I wasn't really feeling Primo's beat. Of course it was technically precise, but it feels a little formulaic. |

Wais is ill. I been @*#$! with him since he was in the Ranjahz. This track is a banger! It would be cool if Premo and Wais released a album together.

It gets very boring sorry. Maybe another rapper can make this track hot. It's nothing too special here.
