If you guys partook in a Thanksgiving feast similar to mine, you’re probably still suffering from a food coma (damn you, turkey and gravy). Thankfully for us, Voli, the New Jersey artist who just took us to The Funeral, is back and ready to restore our collective energy after the gluttonous holiday with his extremely gifted, Stress. Anyone who’s been feeling the weight of the sinking economy with the upcoming holiday season can relate to the Freestyle Series alum as he speaks on the personal hardships he faces in his journey to become a successful artist, with lines like, “..then most of our salaries go back to paying for collge/ now we back to stay with our mammas, either that or wait for the tax break from Obama.” Even more impressive is the fact that Voli also beefs up his production resume with a mesmerizing beat that compliments his bars and vocals perfectly. If you’re feeling this form of stress (the much better kind, I might add), be sure to keep a lookout for his as-yet untitled EP, dropping the first quarter of 2011.

This man has yet to submit (make) a whack track. And you know what that means, ladies and gents? Until we hear otherwise, Voli should expect plenty of Booth features in the weeks and months to come.
Bright future... |

Like the story he tells at the begining. Nice production, and decent hook. Rotation.

There's a reason everyone's starting to talk about Voli - at least around the DJBooth offices - and this is it. Real (real) lyrics deliver with precision and passion? That's all I really need.

Voli's last record "funeral" was crazy good. And it made me a fan of Voli. He is a very talented dude. And i love his work. And this is another reason why i love it.
The production is what got me at first. Only cuz it sounds so familar. I swear he ripped that from something else. I just cant put my finger on what. And i dont really care, cuz it makes this record so amazingly good. His verses was fire. And the chorus was fantastic. I would give this 5 stars but it sounds a lil unfinished. So, its a banger for me. |
