While the sun may be missing for The DJBooth veteran Voli, it’s safe to say that it’s alive and well here on the East Coast. Sorry, it was hard to pass on a weather reference when a sunny, 90-degree day is your cool day. Fresh off the release of last week’s The Wall Sampler, which serves as somewhat of a sample platter for his forthcoming full LP, Voli has released the visuals for self-produced, standout selection Missing Sun. Likely to please the inner filmmaker in us of all the music video for Sun is a smattering of various, uniquely angled shots all pictured in black and white. Lacking in typical, cliché music video antics the Missing Sun video seems to create an ideal visual backdrop to The Wall Sampler as a whole. The video is obviously low budget, but it proves that you can really do a lot when you have creativity (and outstanding music) on your side. Only when those two elements are lost do videos with little funding look cheap. Voli's career stock is as bright as the sun, missing or not.
