A surefire way to let everyone know how big your ‘hit’ single has gotten is to cram as many artists as possible on a remix. Following a trend set by The Game, Chamillionaire, and DJ Khaled, ColliPark affiliate V.I.C. has assembled a Southern all-star team for the remix to his dance anthem, Get Silly. Making the squad are fellow ColliPark Music labelmates (Soulja Boy, Arab, and Tex James of Kadalack Boyz), street veterans and industry heavyweights (Bun B, E-40, Pitbull, Polow da Don, Jermaine Dupri, DJ Unk, and Big Kuntry), and Bubba Sparxxx (who provides a humorous last verse). Hate on Get Silly all you want, but it’s clear that V.I.C. has set a helluva trend.
Bun B See yall! these beats can be bangers if they have decent talent on um. E-40 was money on this one. Pitbull fits this track like a glove. JD kills it. Polow Da Don, I'm waitin on ya album, ARAB!!!!! What more can you ask 4? Good Remix! Unk... is silly. Damn who else on here? Big Kuntry? Bubba Sparkxxx sounds like a english man on this one. I enjoyed it
Same old monotonous "dance" junk. Not surprised to see Soulja boy taking another shot to hip hops proverbial gut. If anyone thinks this production required any effort at ALL please get some help this is a bunch of layered loops in an audio program.
A "Various Artists"remix without Weezy? Poser. Haha, but no really this isn't that good although I would love to hear this on big subs. Bun B and 40 Water go hard.
I know this sounds funny, but I actually like this song. Here is a couple of reasons. First off: I'm not a "stick up the behind hip hop purtist who is always so angry they can't enjoy life" type person. Second, if everyone rapped one way, whether it be crunk, conscious, hyphy, Gansta or whatever, the rap game would be boring. That means, in the same sense that I wouldn't want an industry full of Soulja Boys, I also wouldn't want every rapper just to rap like Nas or Jay either. There would be no variation to form a like or dislike factor amongst the rapper community. Second, I'm a guy who likes to laugh everyone once in a while at music. I really like how this guy pronounces words and approaches this song....I mean, c'mon, the song is called "Get Silly", and when I hear it and see the video, that's simply what he's doing. He's being silly. It's not supposed to get any deeper than that. Third, I just feel it takes more effort to whine and moan about a death of hip hop and use quotes like "taking shots at hip hop's proverbial gut", (which let me know "sounds" intelligent, but makes no sense granted that "proverbial" mean "known or common") rather than just except hip hop for what it is and co-exist as a fan or artist, unless something is being high detrimental to our culture MORE than actual issues in the world like politicians or education systems. NOW THAT WAS A MOUTHFUL. With that being said, I dug the original version and could chuckle at and respect this remix. VIC "gets silly" again. I don't get too "hot under the collar" about it, because truthfully, I've seen the man rap "for real" before. He's a decent rapper and I know he's just "getting silly" here for a fun single for people of the younger generation to love. As for Soulja Boy, this is the first track I ever even heard him actually try on. He's not "M.C" material in my book, but at least he dropped some decent punchlines like "only one of MySpace with more friends than Tom" and "leaked all my songs and I still went Platinum" while keeping a listen-worthy tempo on the cadence. Bun B's verse summed up EVERYTHING I've said here. E-40's verse was nice as well. Proves the song can be decent, cuz two legends hopped on (Bun B & E-40). The rest of the rappers other than V.I.C and Soulja Boy (Who did ok) SMASHED this remix. LOL...does anyone notice how Arab sounds EXACTLY like Soulja Boy...lol. The worst person on this track was DJ UNK, simply compared to the other rappers. Overall, I'd rather listen to this remix than anything by DJ Khaled post "We Takin Ova" era. Hahahaha...........Bubba baby. Peace. Oh, and this was a mad long post full of some interesting viewpoints, so please, feel free to come at me people so I can hear responses more ignorant than anything I could have possibly heard in this song. Thanks. It's ya boy! Michael Hannah a.k.a Young Son.
lmao Does it really say Soulja Boy as being a Street Veteran? Come on Burmy lol, but Soulja didnt actually do that bad on this song, but lets face it after that song Soulja and Arab put out Arab's (Yahh Trick Yahh) rep went WAYYY down, dont even try to play around and say it didnt.. nothing more to say..
Kayleb101, you gotta pay attention homey: Street veterans and industry heavyweights (Bun B, E-40, Pitbull, Polow da Don, Jermaine Dupri, DJ Unk, and Big Kuntry). That's what Burmy said. He referred to Soulja Boy as V.I.C's Collipark label mate.
all i know is that this song would get the club poppin and the booties shakin. songs like these are not made for bumpin in the whip or puttin on your myspace profile...this song is for those fine females to shake their booties.
MH-First let me say I by no means believe hip hop is dying and agree that variety is necessary in developing genres but this just doesn't qualify as rap in my mind. Second the word "proverbial" can be made the subject of a proverb which in turn is essentially (by one of the accepted definitions) "a person or thing that is commonly regarded as an embodiment..." do not take me as ignorant and attempt to discredit my replies. If you were truly practicing what your entire post was explaining you would have "coexisted" with my opinion and moved on yet you apparently felt the need to go to great lengths to praise a song which at most took little to no effort to produce. Granted I will give you their were some great verses contributed by some of the veterans but this is no 4 star song by a long shot.
Forgot to add that the punchline you praise Soulja Boy for about Myspace is old and he is not the first to use it. Even Hollywood Undead another Myspace band used that exact line in one of there songs over two years ago.
Okay. That's noted. Thanks for presenting your comment in the same "crispiness" shall I say, as I did. I definitely respect that. I don't hold Soulja Boy high up on a list or anything, but I won't waste my breath trying to explain how he's SO trash. Just let people do what they do. THE END...lol.
I can't lie this song really grew on me. It doesn't make me wanna run out and get his CD, but it does get me going when I hear it on the radio. Maybe its just me, but remixes as big as this are hard to keep up with.
IT'S JUST OK, I MEAN ITS NOT LIKE THEY JUST WENT HARD! IF YOU HAVE HEARD THE RADIO VERAION MINUS SOME OF THE RAPPERS, U WILL UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CUT OUT SOME OF THE REMIX
this is one of the songs you just do as the song says...Get silly. I think its meant to be funny, and I find it funny so V.I.C. did his job... Side note i appreciate the fact that this is mostly a down south remix but they stil had E-40 in here, cause his swag was made for this track
hot track mayne i like it better dan da orginal track,do ya thang pimpn, dis my beat dat will blow out ya speakers dogg,
arab, unk, j.d, sbezzy, vic, bun b, and da dogg pitbull rip dis beat mayne, gotta love it.
I love how some of our members want to criticize others for what they type in their feedback, and then you realize that once you're done reading their criticism, they didn't even leave any feedback themselves. Haha.... get silly b**ches.
hahahaha lmao bubba sparxxx i think we need to give him another chance at this he's too funny...i hate the original but the remix was fun to listen to...once. polow, dupri efizzle and pitbull killed it
Man this shitt hella right! V.I.C did his thang wit this one, all tha gudda niggaz on here I expect to hear 'mo 4rm my dude.

Please, what is this? I'm going to work on my comment as hard as they did to produce this: "Same old monotonous "dance" junk. Not surprised to see Soulja boy taking another shot to hip hops proverbial gut. If anyone thinks this production required any effort at ALL please get some help this is a bunch of layered loops in an audio program." Oh, and MICHAELHANNAH("...this was a mad long post full of some interesting viewpoints, so please, feel free to come at me people so I can hear responses more ignorant than anything I could have possibly heard in this song") that was the most presumptuous remark I’ve ever seen on djbooth. 0_o What were you thinking? I still like the Young Son tracks though…
This is a funny ass song lmfao. how can u not like this? i could listen to it like 20 times in a row and not get tired of hearing "get sillayyyy" its a beat and itll work in clubs.
Vadersfist, XxMrHaterxX, xxDaTruthxx, shut your mouths. The fact y'all don't know how to write, type or use intelligent words if y'all fault. Keep it low. FredRico, my middle name is "presumptuous"...lol. (Except when rapping...I try to keep it humble..thanks for peeping the tracks). Oh, and WOW, this is a first. We finally agree on something! BTW, does anyone notice how V.I.C looks (looks) like a cross between Lil Wayne and Lil JJ from Just Jordan? Interesting. GET SILLY SON! [Just for fun](And now back to your regularly scheduled hip hop music containing content)
fredrico :p plz dont tell me this song make u wanna dance :/ if u can ? lol its a hype song that makes mme wanna dance but i dont like the lyrics thats all
"Vadersfist, XxMrHaterxX, xxDaTruthxx, shut your mouths"
...k furst of all i ain't Mike Jones, BYTCH! keep myy fukkin name outcha mouth...
...Michael Hannah...
Lol, REAL G00NS SH00T, I’ll assume you meant “don’t tell me this song DOENSN’T make u wanna dance” I thought we were on the same side the way you wrote that, but then you disappointed me :p I can move my feet, but I hate choreography dancing like Soulja Boy’s. I’m more about break-dance or just freestyling, and this MONOTONOUS BEAT is sure NOT what would inspire me to do any special moves. I’m more about Take the Lead, Step Up (movies), kind of dancing… (thus, their soundtrack is what would make me wanna dance)
Micheal Hannah I see what you mean with V.I.C. looking like Wayne and Lil JJ...and they r hot- so if you put them together you get an even hotter person which=V.I.C.!- haha....ANYWAY i also think we are starting to agree on a lot of new things lately...but one question for you: how do i know that you are really Young Son?? ( i used proper grammar in respect to your "English paper" and i did't use my famous word-you know what it is but i won't say it THIS time) LOL!
