Our very own Richard once said he believes that Verse is an r&b robot whose only mission it to sing about sex, and after listening to his latest offering Pretty Girls - making its premiere right here on the Booth - I’m hard pressed to disagree. Seemingly undaunted both by the fact that Wale just dropped a single with the same name and his guest artist OJ da Juiceman (a.k.a. the poor man’s Gucci Mane) was widely panned on Verse’s last track Buy You a Round (Remix), Verse heads right back into the fray with a pop-oriented cut featuring bouncing, Dream-eqsue production from Sham of The Jugganauts, silky smooth, island-tinged vocals and a barely listenable lyrical contribution from OJ (I’m sorry to keep picking on the man but it’s true). Just once I’d like to see an artist make a song for the ugly girls. Pretty Girls is off Verse’s apparently aptly-titled upcoming album Stories of a Bachelor, due out in the summer of 2010.

AY OK. We all know OJ isn't the "most greatest rappers" (but he has a REALLY GOOD SONG W/ R. Kelly called Poppin)
but he really does compliment this song. even the annoy aye ok. lol. Verse is pretty smooth always, i must say. So this song most definitely gets rotation.
WAAAAIT: just heard his verse. yikes...

OJ the Juiceman might be the funniest act to come out of hip-hop. He makes me laugh. And laugh. And laugh. Aye!

Production is decent but I'm not feeling this at all. Sorry.

Everything but the OJ contribution gets high marks here. Production work from Sham and Verse's verses (like that?) both are mad catchy.

I am going to assume (and I could be totally off) that OJ drops into many an Atlanta studio and his going rate for a "hot 16" isn't very much. When it comes to your work, however, I can only suggest artist (not only Verse) be a bit more critical.

The production and Verse were decent, but I will never begin to understand why artists put OJ on their tracks. Just do it solo if nothing else.

I don't really know what to say about this track...the production sounds a tad amateur, and I find myself not even really paying attention to the song itself. It's definitely not my cup of tea, but I am known to be pretty picky, and I'm sure a lot of people will like it.

Ummm, I LOVVVE Buy You A Round, but why the heck did he put OJ on this?!? And the producer is a Tricky/Dream rip-off, but they do it better.

I never heard of Verse before (I don't think...so many new artists nowadays), but this is decent right here. The beat is nice and song is OK. OJ is always just funny to me.

Verse comes correct....
The beat sounds radio ready....
And Oj doesn't sound as annoying as usual....
It's rotation status

Sorry, I gotta be real. Nope. Verse's contributions are decent, other than that it's a skip.

Like Wale's pretty girls a lot more. Verse is pretty good, beat sounds like something I've heard multiple times. Usually I'm a big advocate of OJ because of his bouncing flow and visual lyrics but he is beat on this track, lyrics suck, energy isn't there and sounds out of place.

FOR THE RECORD GUCCI MANE IS THE POOR MANS GUCCI MANE. OKAY SO I KNOW I'M PROLLY GONNA CATCH HEAT FOR THAT "THE TRUTH HURTS BUT BUT THAT'S THA TRUTH DAWG OH OH NO HE DIDN'T OH OH YES I DID"
BUT SERIOUSLY PEOPLE HIS STYLE IS WEAK AND HIS RHYMES ARE REMEDIAL AT BEST. HE'S ON A LIL WAY TIP RIGHT NOW WHERE HE IS FEATURED ON EVERY TRACK AND REMIX OUT THERE. TRUE WHAT I CAN'T HATE ON IS MY DUDE IS OUT THERE STACKIN CHIPS. BUT REALLY I DID TRY TO LIKE GUCCI BUT STANDING ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKIN IN WITH A HIP HOP STATE OF MIND I JUST COULDN'T DO IT. I THINK MOST PEOPLE LIKE HIS MUSIC BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE DOES, WHICH BRINGS TO THE FOREFRONT THE JUMP OFF A BRIDGE THEORY. I'M NOT SAYIN MY OPINION IS RIGHT JUST THINK ABOUT IT.

ABOUT THIS TRACK HERE: IT'S SUCH A TYPICAL TRACK WE NEED A NEW WORD FOR TYPICAL. LET'S SEE THE DREAM, RON BROWZ NOW SHAM? NO MORE PLEASE STOP WITH THE COPY CAT MUSIC. IT'S GETTING OLD.

ALSO ANOTHER JUST FOR THE RECORD: WHILE I DO LOVE WALE'S MUSIC AND SPECIFICALLY PRETTY GIRLS. THE ORIGINAL PRETTY GIRLS AT LEAST OF THIS PRETTY GIRLS ERA IS JARVIS FT. ROCK CITY (PTFAO) NOT THE LUDA VERSION NO DISRESPECT IT'S JUST BETTER. GOOGLE IT.
