Vado - Motivated (Tired Of Playin Games)
Artist: Vado
Producer: Trackmasters
Album: Slime Flu (The Lost Tapes)
Label: We The Best Music Group
After months of serving as Cam’ron’s sidekick – seriously, those two have seemed like rappin, booty-loving Siamese twins lately – Harlem representer Vado is finally ready to step out on his own. With a signing to Interscope close in the rearview, along with a so-so reception from the Booth on previous feature Ain’t a Thang to Me, Vado’s hoping to truly make his mark with new, female friendly single Motivated (Tired of Playing Games). Producers Trackmasters lay down a sugary, late ‘90s-esque beat for Vado to rhyme over, and he responds with appropriately romantic bars vowing to treat his special lady friend better than any other man could, sentiments crooner Quo echoes on a silky hook and bridge; with songs like this and Interscope’s backing, we could be hearing Vado’s slow but steady flow on radio stations everywhere soon. If you’re feeling Motivated to seek out more Vado, you’ll definitely want to cop his upcoming and currently unscheduled Slime Flu (The Lost Tapes), a follow-up to his Slime Flu mixtape, available across the interwebs now.

At no point last year did I understand why people were head over heels for Vado. To me, he was thriving based on his success-by-association situation. Slowly, however, he has grown on me. "Motivated" is by far the most radio-ready/pop appealing song I've heard from him to date - its not great, but it will certainly widen his fan base.

I can't find one thing that stood out on this track. Everything seems average. The hook is OK, but it grows tiresome by the end of the song. Pretty unimpressive if you ask me.

When I first heard this I had the lost look, then I played it again and NOW I can HEAR the hook within the beat aka it fits. I don't hear 1st single material. Another beat, another time for Vado this might work in full.

This song is cool. Beat sounds like a throwback which is more of a bad thing then a good thing with this particular song. Vado has nice punchlines & flows easily but just sounds uninterested. It'll prob get a spin or 2 from me in the future.
