Last August, Usher married longtime girlfriend Tameka Foster and nearly three months later, the couple had their first child. For the first time in his life Usher was both a husband and father; two roles he had never before experienced. Now, just two weeks away from the arrival of his highly-anticipated new studio album, Here I Stand, Usher is sharing with the world that he doesn’t mind Trading Places. Produced by L.O.S. Da Maestro and co-wrote by The-Dream, the same duo who crafted J. Holiday’s Bed, the track features Usher openly explaining the roles that he’d like to swap with his leading lady. Just a little guess: a week after his album drops on May 27, Mr. Raymond will experience a #1 record for more than the first time.
I still can't wait for this usher album to come out! Every track so far sounds GREAT! This has a bangin Prince type production to it and Usher's voice is as good as always on here. Nice chorus and strong lyrics! This is a Certified DJ BLAZE BANGER!!!
Hey look DJ Z.... see someone does read the stuff up there... (see Kayleb101 comment...lol!) Other than that it does in fact have a DREAM style to it... but this isn't my type of song...Sorry for all the USher fans!
Greeting in Australia, Ole. I hate to break it to you, mate; this song is NOT produced by Tricky Stewart. Believe me when I say this: Google searches lie to you. :-)
I think some people are finding this track lacking uniqueness because it's a the-dream cred. His stuff is blowing up everywhere hence a certain familiarity with it. But you absolutely can't take anything away from this Usher joint. Usher just hits those signature dream falsetto notes perfectly; spine-tingling to be exact. Love how it has the-dream written all over, can't wait for the album.
Yeah, you can definately hear The Dream all over this indeed. HOWEVER, I don't like how he (Dream) sings (only song I like from him is "Fast Car" belive it or not). I love and prefer Usher's voice. He did a great job on this one.
His voice doesn't disappoint, as always, but the song is as good as, for example, Love In The Club! I need to listen to it again, for now I'm not mad for it...in rotation
I don’t get how this could not be anyone’s type of song, as if you were too tough to appreciate it…?! I’m sorry 4 u if that’s your case. Well, as for me, I love this Dream-style. Bed was more baby making, but this is even better musically speaking, especially with the additions of such a beautiful flawless performance by Usher and the remarkable guitar solo by the end. The lyrics are better than average also, the entire trading is kinda funny. Agree with u senorfresco, it does remind Fast Car, in a slower tempo.
I think this song is actually hot half bad. Not my favorite usher song but it can start things in the bedroom with ya lady. I can dig it! I don't expect here I stand
to top confessions that album was a classic. How everthe song I've heard so far are pretty good especilly I can't win and moving mountains. 4 stars.
lol i hate da dream and his dam repeating syllables (srry dream fans) but i dig usher cuz he did his thing on da track. i wont be havin dis on repeat but more likely in rotation
Ay I like this song. I wouldn't mind trading places wit my girl. But anywho I didn't like Usher til Confessions came out but I believe his new cd will "possibly" out do Confessions. Can't wait to get it on my Iphone, lol
God bless
Usher is the best R&B singer of his time, hands down. I can't wait for his album to come out so he can remind all these kids like Chris Brown of what real passion in R&B is. I've always thought that Chris Brown has potential, but needs to go through some real s**t in his life before that emotion will carry over to the music. Usher learned this a long time ago. As for this song, it really does have The-Dream all over it. The song is like The-Dream's "Falsetto" and Chris Brown's "You"(lol) put together. Pretty cool.
what up yall this my first time commenting on here, but i feel like i know all of yall!been checking out dj booth for a minute and i think its the shit!anyways back to the song dis another solid usher song def baby makin music! anyways anybody other than me think that reishm4 kinda of a hater sometimes if this not your kind of music dont rate it!haha
I like the beat and that just might be all I like about the song. I'm really starting to think The-Dream sucks becuase all of his songs sound exactly the same...that shows a lack of creativity to me. Usher's okay and this beat is okay so i guess together it's an okay song.
The production is HOT! Another Dream/Prince exclusive. It's sexy and it sets the mood for that good thang. The hook could've been a little better but it still works.
Definitely a Tricky Stewart track because he used the same mute guitar lick in Chris Brown's "You"... and as far as writing goes definitely the flow of The Dream with some of Usher's own licks in there. This is like track 4 on the cd and I can verify that this album is as good if not better than Confessions... real talk, ya'll see
dag..usher's my boy n all but, this song sounds rather bland/basic. the beat is cool. i liked it 1st when i heard it on chris brown's 2nd album: 'Exclusive - You'.
in fact...i like Chris Brown's "You" more than this. [ goes to replay chris brown ]
"love in the club" assassinates this new track right here. ersher better step it up next time.
Im a huge usher fan, and his voice here does not disappoint at all. This definitely has "the dream" written all over it, which is not such a bad thing.
Avg song, which usher made the best out of.
