You’d think after he impregnated his mistress on Confessions Part II, or after his break-up from TLC’s Chilli (allegedly because of his cheating) Usher would have learned to remain faithful, but apparently the man just can’t help himself from Foolin’ Around. The latest leak of his upcoming album, Foolin’ Around finds Usher reuniting with frequent hitmaking production partner Jermaine Dupri (who, according to his Twitter, was none too pleased the track got out) for a regret filled ballad built around a slow piano line, snapping snares, and of course Usher’s always smooth vocals, who apparently feels bad enough to apologize to his lady for his philandering ways. Foolin’ Around is a damn good track, but I still can’t help but think it sounds like a poor man’s Confessions II. Usher’s impending Raymond vs. Raymond album has been delayed – probably because of all these leaks – and is now set to drop in sometime in 2010. Keep it locked for all the latest.

ok, its not a poor man's Confessions 2, after all it is Usher. however, its not as good. this still jamz tho. this is by no means below anything other than a very good track. i can see y JD wasnt happy it got leaked.

this is how it should be, the intro is smooth and the rest of the song is good. reminds me of throwback and confessions, does this mean the old usher is back?

I agree this is a lot like the old Usher we know, with a little bit of the new him mixed in. I'm sure if I heard this a lot more I would like it A LOT more, but it doesn't really have THAT catchy of a hook. Everything else I have heard off the album hasn't impressed me and the only Usher track that I like that has come out in the past four years is Trading Places.

Its a decent track from one of the best artist in music. To be honest though, I find this to be a rip off of confessions 2.
3.5 The best track ive heard from Usher is 'There Goes My Baby' which was produced by Jim Jonsin (the guy that should of won producer of the year). |

Finally! I was worried with the route he was taking. Vintage stuff with plenty of appeal. Production is simple but nice and Usher carries the song like it's supposed to be, not the beat.

This was a great effort from Usher. He sounds great with the piano. Most of his songs off the new album have been sub-par so far, but this ballad was really well-done.

Vocals and lyrics combined, best track I’ve heard out of all the new Usher stuff, but that doesn't saying a lot cos those joints were pretty sub-par.
On the right path but still comes off as a track that lacks the melody of a surefire HIT. Rotation fa sho! |
