Continuing South Florida’s rapid expansion of the proverbial hip-hop map, rap duo Unsivilized is hoping that Fort Lauderdale can find its proper place. And what better way to get your city “on” than by showcasing its favorite pastime on your debut single? For MC’s Lil’ One and Nicess, that pastime includes pulling up in a decked-out Chevy and Whippin’ Da Bass from the trunk’s speakers. No stranger to that custom himself, fellow SoFlo representa’ Rick Ross throws in sixteen stuntin’ bars, but what really makes a track like Whippin’ Da Bass work is – obviously — the beat. In this case, let’s just say producer Issaic Oppus knows what he’s doing. The group’s mixtape, Head 2 Da Sky, is currently available on the streets of the Sunshine State.
I am not feeling Unsivilized flow at ALL! I don't know if it just sounds too old school or what. The beat is OK. Rick Ross is the only high point of this track. He does the best he can with it; but in the end it's just OK to me.
have to agree with ya blaze, the duo's flow seems unsuiting for the beat-which is pretty cool- and im always a fan of the boss' work. fire worthy of 3 stars
Rick brought the B back in BOSS. Unsivilized doesn't sound uncivilized in this track. He sounds immature, maybe, it's just the song. The beat is tight. I hate when a good beat goes to waste. I want a remix with three more artists so they can minimize unsivilized part. THIS IS A THREE STAR FOR THE PRODUCER AND NOT THE ARTIST.
not good but not bad... for underground it'd be hot but featuring a mainstream artist you gotta rate it based upon that. so its ok. id play it a few times on my ipod before forgetting it was there
Playing in the background while I am working on a plethora of tasks, this isn't half bad. When you listen to the lyrics, like with MOST new artist, you realize not much is being said. It's all about the direction they take; the direction here works for their intentions.
