Uncle Luke - Playaz Play ft. Various Artists
Artist: Uncle Luke
Featuring: Pitbull , Ace Hood , Casely , Billy Blue
Producer: Lu Diaz [of the Diaz Brothers]
Album: Untitled (TBD)
Label: The G Inc.
With the release of biopic Notorious, the buzz around the late Christopher Wallace is bigger than ever, and as a result we’ve seen an upswing in Biggie-sampling beats. The latest record to take production cues from the legendary emcee is Playaz Play, a star-studded ensemble cut from promoter/label head Uncle Luke of 2 Live Crew fame. Borrowing its title and hook from Big’s raunchy Bust a Nut, the record finds Luke and featured artists Pitbull, Ace Hood, Yungen (a Miami up-and-comer), Casely, and Billy Blue letting listeners know just how they play. With all the talent on display here, just about everyone should find something to like about Playaz Play, and Lu Diaz‘s minimal, synth-driven beat should ensure the record gets some play in the clubs. This teaser single will be included on a forthcoming release from Uncle Luke, the details of which are yet unannounced.

I am usually hesitant to give props to songs that feature more than three artists. However, OG vet Uncle Luke delivers the goods on this record.
Every artist featured here gets enough time to spotlight what they can do, each keeping the energy high and not waring out their welcome. Club killer. |

I wanted this to be a banger, but to me it isn't. The production is that of a club banger, energetic and catchy, but I don't like them. I'm sorry I can't distinguish them, I only hear who is Casely and he sings good. The others rap in a way I don't like.

Jus the fact that he was able to mix both rappers and singers makes it an automatic 5...
