Although U-N-I‘s home region of Southern California is the birthplace of gangsta rap, the Inglewood duo chose to forgo the formerly popular genre for a fresher approach to hip-hop. Named after their representation of the “U-N-I to the Verse,” emcee’s Y-O and Thurzday spit about a Beautiful Day, reminding listeners that as long as you’re still breathing, life is beautiful. Adding a laid-back, keyboard-sax tinged beat is producer Diabolic. Yes! These are my guys. Look out for that Young Son and U.N.I collab coming soon. We are in talks about it at the moment. I've been bumping these cats for a little over a half a year every since I heard "K.R.E.A.M", their remake of the famous Wu Tang joint, except with a interesting twists about "Kicks" instead of Cash. Diabolic's production is real nice. My boy Thurzday killed it. This is a banger. I definitely dig the vibe. If y'all haven't yet, y'all should go come Fried Chicken & Watermelon. It's been out for a while and it's flame.

U-N-I you have saved Dj booth's night. This song is Hot as A skillet! I thought they stoped makin music like this. I have never heared of yall, but I this song gives me something I can look 4ward to from my city. Give us a entire album of this right here, and you'll have a fan in me.

"Beautiful Day" is one of my favorite tracks of '08 and U-N-I is on the top of my list for most impressive new artists. I purchased their album on through their MySpace page and it is truly a refreshing project coming out of So Cal. They recently said in a radio interview that their representing the new age LA hip-hop that sways away from the popularized gangsta rap norm. The vibe on this record is ridiculous from start to finish. I always thought that there should have been a third verse with Y-O and Thurzday exchanging lines. The music video is also hot! It feels so good...
